Over 3 chilly days from the 30 June – 2 July 2023, Stanthorpe will be the place to be as the Granite Belt region’s premier winter celebration, Snowflakes in Stanthorpe, presents a magical program of awesome family-friendly entertainment. The winter festival has everything from amazing fireworks displays to bonfires, ice skating, snowman building competitions, an industrial snow machine, human snowglobe, pantomimes, live entertainment, kids activities and snowmen held in multiple sites across the town know best for being the coldest place in Queensland. Just remember to wear your warm clothes while attending the event, as you never know if snowflakes will fall the day you are attending.
Snowflakes in Stanthorpe is held in 2 different locations throughout the town on 3 different days.
Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day One
Date: Friday 30 June
Location: Stanthorpe Main Street, Maryland Street, Stanthorpe.
Cost: FREE
The main street of Stanthorpe will be packed with great entertainers, demonstrations and activities. Rug up and enjoy the on stage performers, seasonal markets and incredible ice sculpture competition. The whole family is invited to join in on the street parade, the bocce rink, the jumping castles and the snowman toss. After 5pm, join the lantern parade winding its way to Stanthorpe’s newest icon the Big Thermometer. Enjoy the laser lights and fireworks before seeking out the local restaurants and bars guaranteed to provide the warmest hospitality around.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day Two
Date: Saturday 1 July
Location: The Snowgrounds: Stanthorpe Showgrounds, 8 High Street, Stanthorpe.
Cost: Entry is $20 per adult, $10 per child (5-15 years) and Kids under 5 years are FREE. online ticketing fees apply
Let it Snow! Join in the fun on Saturday at the Stanthorpe Snowgrounds. The gates open at 9am and your ticket price includes a huge range of free activities including the massive snowfield (with under 8’s area), on stage entertainment, fashion parade, movies, giant snowglobes, climbing wall, enchanted forest, jumping castles, petting zoo and ‘snow’ much more. Wander the winter markets, indulge in the international food fest and relax in the local wine and beer marquee. The ice skating rink will be available until 7pm at an extra cost per session. The evening ends with fire twirlers and a hula hoop spectacular.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Day Three
Date: Sunday 2 July
Location: The Snowgrounds: Stanthorpe Showgrounds, 8 High Street, Stanthorpe.
Cost: Entry is $15 per adult, $7 per child (5-15 years) and Kids under 5 years are FREE. online ticketing fees apply.
On Sunday head back to the Stanthorpe Snowgrounds for more great activities. The Bushies Breakfast will start the day including billy tea, damper and a bbq breakfast. The ice skating rink will be open from 9am and there will be plenty more snow! The ninja climbing wall and new obstacle courses will be available for adventurous.
The market stalls will be open from 9am to 2pm and all of the children’s activities will be back. On stage entertainment continues all day. There is also a Bushies Breakfast at an additional cost.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe: Ice Skating
Date: 30 June – 2 July
Cost: $15 for 25 mins
No winter festival is complete without ice skating and so throughout the whole 3 days of the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe celebrations, the whole family can go ice skating together at Stanthorpe’s first ice skating rink. As an extra this year there will be an additional skate rink where learners and littlies can safely learn to skate. This is the only activity during the 3 day celebration that is an additional cost to families. All other activities across the weekend are free or included in the entry cost.
