  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

BrisAsia Festival 2024 – A colourful celebration of Asian culture in Brisbane

The colourful BrisAsia Festival, boasting more than 30 artistic and cultural events held in various locations across Brisbane over 3 weeks, is back for another great year.

From 1 – 18 February 2024, Brisbane families can celebrate the best of Asian arts and culture, including theatre, dance, food, music, film, talks and visual arts.

Just be aware, many events require booking and tickets will be strictly limited so everyone is encouraged to get in early and secure a spot.

BrisAsia Festival 2024 Highlights

Throughout the BrisAsia Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Asian culture including dragon dancing, Lunar New Year celebrations, Cosplay, dance and K-Pop events, amazing food events and much more!

Lush on Fish Lane- Asian Street Festival, South Brisbane

Saturday 3 February from 5pm – 19pm

Connect through culture at BrisAsia’s inaugural Asian Street Festival, Lush on Fish Lane.Be part of the annual celebration that is BrisAsia Festival and taste mouth-watering culinary offerings by local Asian restaurants Chu the Phat, Bird’s Nest, and Southside Restaurant. The program will include the official launch of commissioned street art by local Asian artists Lisa Tran Kelly and Vanghoua Anthony Vue, a Break Dance battle featuring competitors from BrisAsia Dance, roving street performances by the Moon Ensemble and live music from both traditional and contemporary artists. Lunar New Year Celebrations, Fortitude Valley

Saturday 10 February from 3pm – 10pm

 Your family is invited to bring in the Year of the Dragon at the Lunar New Year celebrations in Chinatown Mall. The mall will be decorated in red and gold, symbolising good fortune and joy. Kids will love the colourful display of lion dancers weaving their way through the crowd, as well as other roaming entertainment that’s all free. For more information click here

BrisAsia ParTea, Fortitude Valley

Saturday 10 February, 3pm – 9pm

It’s ParTEA time! BrisAsia ParTEA is a celebration for tea drinkers, food lovers and appreciators of local crafts. Come along and enjoy a market dedicated to this much-loved drink, offering tea tastings, hot and cold teas, bubble teas, accessories, workshops and music. Gather your family and friends to enjoy the festiviteas and welcome the Year of the Dragon together. Find out more here

BrisAsia Unites: Lunar New Year Concert, Mt Coot-tha

Sunday 11 February, 4pm – 6pm

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with a joyous cultural experience for all the family. BrisAsia Unites will showcase traditional music, dance and theatre from across the Asian region. Bring your picnic rugs, relax under the shade of the majestic trees, be immersed in the pulsating rhythms of Asia while indulging in the best authentic Asia street food. For more information click here 

Southside By Night, Willawong

Friday 16 February, 5pm – 9pm

Enjoy a family friendly night with Brisbane’s hottest cars, the city’s top artists and authentic street food.  Flying in for the event is multi award winning DJ Kuya James for a live set. Top local DJ’s and homegrown rappers Eastmode are also on line-up. The city’s most notorious car crews will be rolling deep with Supercars, JDM’s, Euros and more! To top it all off, real authentic street food by the southside’s best vendors will have your senses going into overdrive. Find out more here

BrisAsia Summer Party, West End

Friday 16 February, 5pm – 9pm

Watch Brisbane light up to celebrate Asian pop-culture like never before. It wouldn’t be summer without the heat of this huge line-up of talented performers and non-stop entertainment. Watch your favourite anime characters come to life on stage and dance the night away to Idol cover groups. Get your pen lights out and practice your wotagei – at Summer Party, summer never felt hotter! This event is free but tickets are required. For more information on this all- ages event click here

Lunar New Year Rooftop Party, Sunnybank

Saturday 17 February from 5pm – 8.30pm

Lunar New Year Rooftop Party is a free, family-friendly event on the rooftop at Sunnybank Plaza! Featuring Brisbane’s biggest Lunar New Year fireworks display at 8pm and an exciting line-up of live entertainment, lion and dragon dance performances and activities for the kids, it’s the perfect way to herald in the Year of the Dragon. Plus, all your favourite Sunnybank restaurants will be available for dine in or takeaway food, with special Lunar New Year menu offerings. The Lunar New Year Rooftop Party is presented by Sunnybank Plaza. For more information click here.

ImaginAsia Children’s Program, Various Brisbane Venues

Developed by Menaka Thomas and a team of artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, ImaginAsia is a cultural immersion like no other, sharing timeless wisdoms that are accessible and fun for the whole family.
