  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Rotary Park at Redcliffe – A Seaside Playground

Last updated: July 28, 2023

A play at the nautical themed playground, next to the seaside at Redcliffe, could only be made better by a spot of fishing.

Rotary Park playground

Rotary Park, also known as Amity Playground, is located on the stunning waterfront at Redcliffe and as such, is considered one of our WOW playgrounds.

This partially fenced playground includes a flying fox, swings, slides, a play ship, climbing opportunities, barbeques, plenty of seating and some shady spots to sit and relax.

It’s adjacent to the beach, making it perfect for a picnic, an afternoon of fish and chips, and playground fun. Perhaps tie this in with a spot of fishing and you have the perfect day out.

Imagination Factor

This playground’s seaside location and nautical theme promotes some pretty cool play ideas. Your little captain can take the lead whilst cruising the seas in search of pirates and the rest of the crew can keep an eye out from the many vantage points within the fort structures.

Accessibility

Concrete paths, suitable for wheelchairs and prams, lead from the carparks, and continue along the waterfront in both directions. Paths also lead to the nearby toilets. Electric barbeques, covered picnic tables and other shady seating is dotted around this playground, making it the ideal venue on a hot day.

Rotary Park is only partially fenced, so extra care should be taken with young children, given its proximity to the waterfront.

We went to this park on Sunday as part of the Recliffe Seaside Village Grand Opening. I have to say, i was very disappointed. While it’s lovely that this area has been re-generated, this park falls short in a few major areas. Firstly, how a brand new park can be built next to a beach and a main road and not be fenced completely baffles me. Secondly one of the biggest slides (a tunnel slide) is set at such a shallow angle that the children literally stop half-way down and have to crawl out, what a disappointment! Again, it is wonderful that this area has had a face-lift, but this park could have been excellent with just a little bit more attention to detail.

I would not take my kids to an unfenced park close to a beach so although I haven’t been here I would love to go – Please put up a fence
