Gregory Park is conveniently located in the Rosalie section of Milton, adjacent to Milton State School (it’s also the school oval and playground during school terms so factor this into your plans!). There’s a host of play equipment and lots of facilities so it’s definitely one to add to your playground list!
Gregory Park playground
Gregory Park is fully fenced and is part of a large play area on Baroona Road. The playground is adjacent to Milton State School and there is also a large lawn area that functions as the school oval throughout the week during school terms. The playground area has a variety of equipment to suit Brisbane Kids of all ages – there are slides, swings, rockers, climbing nets, forts, a balancing and monkey bar obstacle course and sand play areas. Kids will find plenty here to keep them entertained and the proximity to the shops and restaurants in Rosalie Village make it a fantastic spot to enjoy a takeaway lunch or coffee and ice cream.
The playground is well shaded with mature trees and shade sails and there are several picnic tables and barbecue facilities. The large playground and fence around the perimeter of the park coupled with the other facilities make Gregory Park a popular destination for large gatherings such as birthday parties on weekends. The sporting fields include a basketball half court and permanent goal posts, so kids might like to bring a ball with them.
Gregory Park: Imagination Factor
Gregory Park has a large variety of play equipment, inviting kids to blast off to space, race through obstacles like ninja warriors, play house, be trapped in a spider’s web – there are lots of spaces here that kids can use creatively. This park is great because not only is the playground fenced, but the adjoining green space, large trees and toilet facilities are all enclosed within the fenced area, allowing kids a bit more freedom to roam in relative safety. The mature trees provide a real forest vibe to areas of the park and might also spark your child’s imagination and encourage an element of nature play.
Gregory Park: Special Needs
This Park has some nearby disabled street parking and is quite level. There are paths through the playground to some of the picnic tables. The play equipment is on a combination of wood chips, sand and soft fall rubber and unfortunately doesn’t seem to have been constructed with accessibility in mind. The fence around the entire park area is a great feature. There are accessible toilet facilities on site.
