  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Ascot Park

Last updated: June 21, 2023
ascot playground for toddlers

Are you looking for a playground where your busy toddler can play independently? We’ve found the park for you. Ascot Park is designed explicitly for Brisbane toddlers and pre-schoolers, with low-to-the-ground equipment where they can climb and engage.

If they can crawl, they can play at this fully fenced, child-friendly Ascot playground, and there are toilets too!

The prominent feature of this playground is the three cubby houses which are low-to-the-ground and have easy access for toddlers. They are great for promoting a sense of achievement as young children can navigate most of the area independently.

Two cubbies have a market and garden theme with quaint vegetable stairs, a letterbox, a tunnel, slide, hammock and interactive sensory boards.

The other cubby has a firehouse theme. Kids can drive the fire truck, ring its bell, and check out Sparky’s kennel. Kids can slide, clamber through the tunnel or check out the interactive sensory boards inside the fort. Next to the cubbies are the all-important swings.

There’s the usual toddler swing and regular swing, but also a new type of swing. It has two facing lounger-type seats, which makes for great fun! There’s nothing more enjoyable than watching two small children giggling at each other as they swing back and forth.

Water play is always good fun! Ascot Park features a hand-operated water pump where kids can control the water flow down the rocky creek bed.

Explore, send leaf boats down the watercourse or splash and have a marvellous time! It even has a small timber bridge over the creek bed to trip-trap over. Little friends can spin on the spinner, and for older siblings, there is a cargo net climbing frame.

Imagination Factor at Ascot Park

With delightfully themed cubbies, looking for inspiration at Ascot Park is not hard. Your budding chef could collect their ingredients from the markets and whip up a storm in their café. Many little people aspire to be firefighters; this is the perfect safe play space to live out their dream.

Drive the truck, ring the all-important bell and ensure Sparky has a beautiful warm place to sleep while waiting for the next emergency. Perhaps you have a farmer pumping water to feed their herd or water their crops? An explorer might wander the creek bed.

Accessibility at Ascot Park

This park is fantastic for toddlers, but there isn’t much for those with special needs.

Concrete paths connect the elements of the playground and the footpath. The playground is partially shaded with sails and trees, but it can still get quite warm on a hot day (see our Oriel Park review for an alternative fenced playground nearby).

Street parking is available, be sure to check for yellow lines and signage regarding time limits. At peak times, be prepared to walk a short distance.
