The older kids will get their adrenaline going on the 35m double flying fox where they can race one another. There is a large 360° spinning disc which is not for the fainthearted; expect to feel dizzy after spinning in it.
The climbing nets which lead up to the crows nest are for children of moderate ability. On the other side of the climbing nets is a large slide to zoom down.
There’s lots to explore for the little Brisbane Kids. The sandpit and water play system, swings, bouncy rockers, three-way seesaw and spinning buckets will keep your little one busy.
The sensory section has things to twist, spin and bang on including drums, two pipe/xylophone instruments and other interactive boards.
Bring your wheels as there is a good network of flat paths to scoot or ride on. There is a very cool bike run with speed bumps to roll over.
Two small slides built into a hill which has climbing steps provides a fun challenge. One of the small slides is wide enough to accommodate a couple of people.
The nature trail with stepping-stones to jump between is perfect for nature loving kids who enjoy inventing their own games. In this part of the playground there are many large trees where birds can be seen and heard; keep an eye out as sometimes koalas can be spotted in the eucalyptus trees.
For those staying longer, there’s multiple covered picnic tables and electric barbecues. Throughout the playground there are lots of bench seats, low platforms and block walls as well as grassy areas providing plenty of places to rest or have a snack.
This playground is part of the larger Whites Hill Reserve. Check out our detailed review on the 171- hectare Whites Hill Reserve.
Imagination Factor at Whites Hill Reserve Playground
Brisbane Kids will be able to spend hours in this playground playing and exploring. Smaller children can get creative making some castles or digging for treasure in the sandpit and water play area. The small slides and climbing wall is great to pretend you’re mountain trekking.
The nature trail is a fun area to search for leaves, twigs and rocks to make nature inspired art. Or simply relax under the large trees while looking up for birds and native wildlife. For the bigger kids, racing friends on the flying definitely gets the heart pumping.
Accessibility at Whites Hill Reserve Playground
