Bulimba Riverside Park in Bulimba | Love Street Playground

Bulimba Riverside Park is a wonderful park that is situated right next to the Brisbane River and is suitable for both big and little Brisbane Kids. This playground has a strong water-based theming and combined with the sand really encourages lots of imaginative play.

This is a fantastic Bulimba park for kids of all ages. It features an area for younger Brisbane Kids with a boat-themed climbing structure with a slide, a nest swing and an octopus seesaw.

It also offers an older kids area with a huge fort and big slide and lots of things climb and swing on. There is a large jetty-themed deck in the middle of the playground with a climbing net and small slide surrounded by sand. There are also swings, puzzles and things that spin and twirl you around.

Shade sails provide plenty of shade over the playground. The park boasts some awesome large grassed areas for having a game of footy or cricket. Closer to the river you will find several barbeques and picnic shelters. Take your bikes and scooters and go for a ride on the paths along the river, or bring your fishing rods to throw a line in off the real Jetty. There is also an off leash dog park.

Imagination Factor

The location of this park and the ocean theme of the playground calls for pirate adventures on the high seas. The central playground jetty makes a fantastic hub, with boat forts, steering wheels, a play fishing rod and activity panels all reenforcing the theme.

Extend the experience with a spot of fishing in the river from the real jetty, or simply take in the view and watch the boats and ferries go by with your Brisbane Kids. This playground has a sand base and you could bring your own sand toys along.

Accessibility

The trees in Bulimba Riverside Park are still quite young, including the ones surrounding the playground, so they don’t provide much shade themselves, however the shade sails over the play equipment are a real bonus.

The central jetty has ramp access however most of the play equipment is on a sand base. This park has toilet facilities and also has barbeques and picnic shelters. All of the paths are flat and accessible. Best of all you can grab a coffee from one of the many cafes on Oxford Street on your way there. We like that.
