Melrose Park Playground
Melrose Park is a Brisbane park close to the CBD featuring a playground suitable for all ages. It has good paths for riding bikes and scooters and a mini traffic track for kids to learn about road signs and how to ride. The playground features a range of activities for children including swings, a balance beam, monkey bars, a flying fox, a fireman’s pole, a chunky abacus and a slide.
Melrose Park also features a basketball court, skate ramp, cricket nets, and fitness equipment. There is also big open field which is great for kicking a football, flying a kite or just chasing the birds.
Imagination Factor
Melrose park is perfect for bike and scooter riding, either on the mini traffic track (awesome for truck drivers and postmen) or on the flat bike paths. Along with the skate bowl for beginner skateboarders, Melrose Park provides several chances for youngsters honing their riding skills. Kids can also enjoy soaring through the skies on the flying fox or simply running free on the grassy oval.
Accessibility
Melrose Park is not fully fenced but there are a lot of trees and the section of Roseleigh Street in front of the main play area is fenced. There are three covered tables (two with lights) and BBQ facilities. There is also a toilet block on the far side of the park. For those parents that would like to have a coffee while their children play, you will find a good coffee shop one block down on Rose.
