Colmslie Beach Reserve is a park for kids that is ideal for a day out in the beautiful Brisbane sunshine.
The playground has a large fish, octopus, crab and submarine sculpture to climb – perfect for developing gross motor skills in Brisbane Kids. Small interactive buttons around the sculptures turn water on for some fun water play.
A dry creek bed with river stones, rocks and various flora is great for inventing nature inspired games, while the rickety bridge is fun to climb and balance on.
The playground boasts fantastic slides, balancing beams and a flying fox for the more adventurous or older child, while a musical boat is an awesome place to stretch the imagination and legs.
Best of all, there is plenty of space for picnics, lots of seating, pathways which connect all sections of the park, loads of shade, beautiful trees and a massive area for cricket or football.
Opposite the boardwalk there’s a new scooter/bike track for kids to zoom around on their wheels. The pit stop zone includes a pump and pressure check for tyres and some tools for small repairs; this provides a bit of fun. The speed humps, road signs, line markings, bollards and bridge make the track feel like a real road.
Visitors can find accessible toilets are in the playground section. The playground is semi-fenced and the greater park is unfenced. While you are in the area follow the boardwalk and stairs down to the Brisbane River, where you can catch a great view of the Gateway Bridge and low flying planes to wow the aviator in your Brisbane Kid.
