  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Capalaba Regional Park

Last Updated: March 25, 2024

Capalaba Regional Park is an awesome all-abilities playground in southeast Brisbane has space and fun by the bucketful – perfect for a big family gathering with Brisbane Kids of all ages.

Capalaba Regional Park playground

If you are planning a kids birthday party on the Southside of Brisbane, Capalaba Regional Park has to be one of our top recommendations. Partially fenced, with an incredible array of playground areas and facilities, the park is also all-abilities, meaning that all kids can come and make the most of what is on offer.

Capalaba Regional Park’s modern facilities are great for a family picnic or BBQ, with shelters, tables, and wheelchair-accessible toilets.

The all-abilities playground features awesome play equipment, including a musical forest, sand play area and natural plantings.

The hills and mounds with inbuilt slides and ramps will impress your Brisbane Kids. Other features include giant climbing nets, a flying fox and a liberty swing, and a casual sports area and function area for many different things to do.

This is a recreational space boasting two large lagoons and room for all, which makes it ideal for a big delicious picnic on a beautiful sunshine-filled day with your Brisbane Kids.

Imagination Factor

shop, imaginary play

All ages and all abilities can set their minds free in this awesome park! Regardless of ability, all Brisbane Kids can soar like a bird or a plane on a regular swing, liberty swing or the flying fox.

Scooters and bikes are great for exploring the natural environment of the park and the lagoons are perfect for ‘fishing’ and feeding the animals like zoo-keepers.

There are some wonderful little imaginative play treasures to be found, like the small little shop frames that are set up beneath the upper playground space.  Tucked in beneath the main frame, these two shop windows offer kids the perfect opportunity to become shopkeepers and sell their wares to any passing by potential customers.

Accessibility

all abilities liberty swing

One of the main drawcards to this park is its all-abilities facilities and design. A liberty swing, wide open spacious grounds and plenty of flat pathways between the different playgrounds mean all kids can be involved.

Despite being set on more than one level, Capalaba Regional Park is highly accessible. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided and many smooth flat paths make negotiating with a wheelchair or pram easily. The multiple shelters provide respite from the sun and several bench seats throughout to keep an eye on your Brisbane Kids.

The main bottom playground area is fully fenced and several shade trees are throughout.

Capalaba Regional Park – Nature Play

lake, pond

Aside from the amazing playground facilities, Capalaba Regional Park is also an incredible green space for families. With numerous ponds and lakes filled with ducks, birds and water animals, there is plenty to see and explore outside the playground fences.

Long, meandering pathways run between huge treed parks and grassy fields.  Beautiful picnic spaces and an off-leash dog park can be found beneath the speckled shade of the trees behind the playground.  Bring the family pet, a ball or some outdoor sporting equipment and make a day out of the many gorgeous nature spaces offered at Capalaba Regional Park.

In the playground itself, there are also many nature play areas, including sand play and wooden poles and beams to navigate.
