  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Teralba Park in Everton Park

Last updated: July 18, 2022
Teralba Park Mitchelton

Teralba Park is a great location for a picnic, birthday or barbecue and is ideal for younger Brisbane Kids with a variety of play options.

Situated on the boundary of Mitchelton and Everton Park, Teralba Park is a popular location for picnics, birthday parties, BBQ’s and playdates. It is suited to the whole family, with a great playground for younger kids, along with grassed areas to run or kick a ball, a basketball half court, and a table tennis table (bring your own bats and ball).

Teralba Park Playground

slide built into green mountain

The playground features a variety of equipment to encourage climbing, balancing, problem-solving, music and creative play. There is a small vine hedged maze that leads to a large undercover sandpit, swings including a basket swing, spinning climbing frames, slides, and a four person seesaw the family can play on together. A large plastic fort structure features two slides, wobbly bridges, lookouts and climbing walls.

This popular park has huge trees and expansive grassed areas, it is the perfect spot to spread out some blankets in the shade and let your Brisbane Kids have a run.

There are several expansive shelters but they do fill up every single weekend. If you are planning a birthday party here, either get up before the birds or have a contingency plan just incase it is already occupied when you arrive.

You will find a range of photos of Teralba Park at the end of this article

Ninja Warrior Course

ninja warrior course mitchelton

Within the same huge greenspace that is Teralba Park is a Ninja Warrior Course for budding ninja’s keen to see how they fare on an ninja obstacle course. The course tests agility, coordination, balance and ultimately endurance. This course appears designed for teenagers and adults although we imagine some primary school kids giving it their best shot. Smaller children will need some parent assistance for some of the aerial challenges.

Imagination Factor

The small vine covered maze is a lot of fun for little explorers as they try to find each other or discover the ‘beach’ (sandpit) at the end.

The ‘Pet and Café’ shopfront provides children the perfect opportunity to serve bark cakes, stick spaghetti and pretend cups of tea to their friends and family.

The fort playground has a weather station, corner store counter and plenty of wobbly bridges to walk the plank on.

Accessibility

Teralba Park has clean well-maintained toilet facilities and water fountains.  The playground and park have wheelchair and pram access.  The playground is partially fenced but not secure, the sandpit is not fenced.

There is rubber soft fall matting around most of the playground with soft bark chip on the rest.  The majority of the playground is under huge shade sails but the fort structure and the swings are exposed.  The park has off-street and on-street parking.

There are four shelters with tables and seating and three free electric BBQ’s.  It is popular with parties so it’s best to get there early if you want to secure a table.

Please note that the play area is dog-free to keep little Brisbane Kids safe, though dogs are welcome throughout the rest of the park.

Another great Brisbane Playground nearby is Leslie Patrick Park.

If you are seekng coffee, you will find a drive through Zarrafas up on Queens Rd (about 5 minutes away). It is just next door to one of our favourite North Brisbane cafes, Birds and the Bees who also serve amazing coffee and incredible food with a small play area for kids. Birds and the Bees Review.

How to get here

Teralba Park is located on the corner of Osborne and Pullen Roads in Everton Park. Teralba Park is quite expansive. The best place to park for a play in the playground is in the carpark near the Scout Den on Pullen Road, but it is does fill up quickly, especially on weekend. If that carpark is full then you will find street parking all along Pullen Rd or on Teralba Street. If you have little ones, you might prefer Teralba street because it is shadier and quieter than Pullen Rd.
