  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Hidden World Playground in Fitzgibbon

Last updated: August 28, 2023
hidden world playground

This location is a wonderful, brightly coloured park with a playful vibe where little explorers can discover giant creatures emerging from the sand. With toilets, picnic areas and plenty of open space, it is a magnificent place for active and curious children to explore.

Hidden World Playground

Hidden World Playground is a delightful north Brisbane playground on a relatively unremarkable suburban road. However, that is where the ordinary ends! Be prepared for a crazy colourful playground unlike any other in Brisbane.

For younger kids, Hidden World is filled with boardwalks, generous slides and climbing opportunities at every turn. A toddler can negotiate the stairs, which parents can also easily use, to run after them.

It is sand based, making it appealing for mums of crawlers who can set little ones up with shovels and trucks for sand play while their older kids run off and have a good time. If you are heading to the park with kids of multiple ages, consider bringing along some additional play items to extend the space’s use with diggers, scoops and buckets.

For pre-schoolers, Hidden World playground is a favourite, with lots of space to stretch their legs, equipment to swing on, walls to climb, and slides to race down.

Hidden World Playground is especially popular for birthday parties due to its capacity to amuse large groups of children. It would also be a perfect location for group gatherings, especially as the kids get older.

For school-aged children, Hidden World creates the ultimate game of hide-and-seek with plenty of places to run and hide before being found.

Imagination Factor at Hidden World Playground

hidden world secrets

The best play spaces in Brisbane have something magical that transforms them from a functional playground into a place where the childhood imagination can run wild.

In the centre of Hidden World is a gazebo, and within that gazebo is a utility hole. It is one of two utility holes that tell an incredible yet imagined historical story of unusual creatures found at the site. There are also coded messages written in Sentient Mouse language hidden across the playground for children to discover and decode.

Accessibility at Hidden World Playground

This playground has several all-inclusive pieces of equipment, including a wheelchair carousel, nest swing, swing with frame, and a Sway Fun glider.

Hidden World is a sprawling, unfenced playground, so watch all children closely. The playground is surrounded by flat ground, with concrete paths, sheltered picnic tables, accessible toilets and designated disabled car parking spaces.

What We Thought of Hidden World Playground

Stepping toadstools at Hidden World Playground.

We thought this was such a fun location. The bright colour scheme instantly put a smile on our faces. At the same time, the giant mythical creatures invited us to play with a sense of curiosity and wonder. The long route of connected forts made us want to keep moving forward across each obstacle until we finally reached the end.

Fantastic play area for the little kiddies, although extremely popular over the weekends, not too many people around during the week.

What is Sentient Mouse Language? Does it only exist at this park? I tried googling it but didn’t find anything at all. Oh, please somebody tell me!

Hidden World has a great background story. Part of that includes a lost species of sentient mice who have left behind their written lanuage.
