There are many options to climb and play at the family-friendly Lanham Park. Perfectly located right behind the Grange Library, this is a wonderful destination to enrich children’s bodies and their minds in one location. Oh, and there is a cafe too!
Lanham Park Playground
This inviting park is situated in a peaceful pocket behind Grange Library. The partially fenced playground has many special features, including a spinning globe, counting and sign language boards, a small water play area, and a little hut that uses light and colour to create an experience like a walk-in kaleidoscope.
In addition, the playground offers plenty of choices for children to test their climbing skills with numerous climbing structures, which are more challenging than they first appear. It also houses swings, a double slippery dip and a multi-person spinning disc.
The equipment is covered by shade sails and there is an electric BBQ, several bench seats and grassy open spaces under large shady trees to set up for a picnic.
Another benefit of this park is its closeness to the library, providing public toilets and a cafe with tables along a large, sheltered deck. The café is open for business during library opening hours (note that the library is closed on Sundays and Mondays). The library also has a small community garden to explore.
Across the street is another nice playground suitable for younger children and toddlers. There is also a basketball half-court and a lot of open green space here.
Lanham Park Imagination Factor
Preschoolers and primary school-aged Brisbane Kids will love the vibrant colours in this playground. Little monkeys and acrobats can climb and swing, developing strength and gross motor skills. Whilst young chefs and baristas can get busy in the play café.
Lanham Park Accessibility
Accessible toilets are available at the council library (subject to library opening hours). There are flat concrete paths in and around the park for access. Some playground equipment is suited to a variety of abilities. The cafe and library are also wheelchair and pram accessible from the park and off-street car park, as is the community garden.
