Suttons Beach Park at Redcliffe provides a picturesque play for Brisbane Kids in a securely fenced playground. Popular all year round, it really shines on lovely Spring and Summer days with a patrolled beach, gentle waves and adjacent parklands
Suttons Beach Park playground
The drawcard of Suttons Beach Playground is in its numerous parking spots and its proximity to a truly lovely patrolled beach which makes it a perfect destination playground. Suttons Beach Park is completely fenced and features colourful play equipment which means you can relax while your kids have fun. Its best suited to younger kids but with all the ample greenspace you could bring a soccer ball to keep the older kids happy.
This particular Redcliffe playground isn’t as big as the other fort style playgrounds reviewed on our website, but playgrounds near the beach tend to be smaller because the beach tends to be the hero. We love Suttons Beach Park because it offers picnic tables with shelters, barbeque facilities and a great fish n chip shop just down the road and of course, it is fenced.
Opposite the playground is Suttons Beach which is a patrolled beach (during Summer), with small waves and a lovely family atmosphere. In between the beach and the playground is enough green space for a game of soccer and the toilets are around a hundred metres away.
Places to eat
Suttons Beach Park sits along the Redcliffe foreshore and just a short walk in either direction will lead you to restaurants and cafes. This is a popular place for lazy Sunday afternoons, simply BYO picnic blanket and wander up to a nearby fish and chip shop for some takeaway fish and chips.
Imagination Factor
Suttons Beach Playground is a playground with a seaside theme and little Brisbane Kids will love captaining the ship and steering it to shore at Suttons Beach. The balancing and spinning play equipment is great for slightly older Brisbane Kids, where they can play at being in the circus with a gorgeous view of the ocean.
Accessibility
Suttons Beach Park has accessible toilet facilities a short distance from the playground (still within the park). The playground is fenced and shaded much of the day by shade sails. There are bike and walking paths in the park and along the beachfront that are suited to wheelchair and pram use. Shelters and barbeques are located in many spots for public use. There is an extensive carpark which sits adjacent to the park, it does get busy on school holidays but usually it’s just a matter of patience to find a spot.
