This North Brisbane Park at Upper Kedron, otherwise known as Upper Kedron Recreational Park, is another example of a suburban park that meets our tough standards to be considered a WOW playground. There is something here for the whole family.

Upper Kedron Recreation Park boasts an awesome playground with a large climbing frame fit for adventurous climbers. Here multiple pillars are connected by interwoven ropes, creating a complex web for exploration. A jumping mat for kids to bounce on is at the centre of this climbing structure.
An interesting and unusual feature of this playground is a series of connected concrete buildings which are covered with brightly coloured murals. Flat pathways connect these structures, making them wheelchair friendly.
Another accessible feature at Upper Kedron Park is the fantastic Liberty Swing.
There are plenty of swings, slides, a sand play area and other quirky offerings to impress any child.
Imagination Factor at Upper Kedron Park
Little abseilers can climb to the top of the mountain, holding onto the rope as they go. Mini tobogganers can race each other down the side-by-side slides. The fantastic climbing net will get Brisbane Kids caught up in the intricate web as they try to escape the giant spider. The abstract nature of the play equipment at Upper Kedron Park encourages imagination and provides hours of fun.
Accessibility at Upper Kedron Park
Upper Kedron Park has wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities and an incredible Liberty Swing (key required), which is unfortunately is not sheltered or shaded. There are accessible paths leading across the playground under a vibrant rooftop with colourful paintings.

What We Thought of Upper Kedron Park
We like that this park is suitable for the younger children. However, the climbing structures, shared pathways and large open grassy areas would still amuse older Brisbane Kids.
Upper Kedron Playground is also an ideal picnic destination with facilities such as sheltered picnic tables, BBQs, grass fields and accessible toilets.
