  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Alexander Clark Park in Loganholme

Last Updated: February 28, 2024

Alexander Clark Park playground is a beautifully designed space with an Australian animal theme. There is lots of surrounding green space and large established trees providing shade.

Alexander Clark Park playground

Alexander Clark Park is a fabulous location for an entire morning or afternoon, as there is plenty to keep kids busy playing, climbing and exploring. The space has various zones which naturally create curiosity and engage kids of all ages. For those wanting to stay longer or make a day of it, there are BBQs, covered picnic tables, accessible toilets and water.

The main feature of Alexander Clark Park playground is a huge koala sculpture. Inside the koala are climbing ropes and steps leading up to the top; once at the top, choose the covered slide, fire pole or climbing wall to descend.

What a tribute to our incredible iconic koala!

Smaller Brisbane Kids will enjoy the lower-level sensory stations around the bottom. Not too far from the giant mummy koala, there is also a realistic-looking baby koala sculpture perfect to climb or pose with for a photo.

There is a zone for kids who love challenges and movement. Here you will find two in-ground trampolines, a Joey swing, a basket swing, a flying fox (one regular and one seated), a hammock, climbing boulders, balancing logs, steppingstones, soft fall climbing mounds, large sculptures to climb, a slide and a digger.

The rare black cockatoo which is said to signify rain is coming!

Kids will love finding sculptures of Australian animals throughout the playground; a smaller baby koala, platypus, flying fox, black cockatoo, sugar glider, kookaburra and a common eastern froglet are scattered throughout the playground and amongst the nature play area.

For the older kids, there is a full-size basketball court, beach volleyball court and the scooter/bike track. Bring a ball or frisbee, as there is plenty of open green space.

The water play zone

We love this safe water play area!

The water play zone will be a highlight, so be prepared to have wet kids. Along the concrete riverbed, there are sandstone boulders, small and large river stones, water pumps, tipping buckets, mist sprays, jets and moveable wall barriers ideal for cause-and-effect play.

Imagination Factor

Imagine you are a ranger or conservationist looking after bushland and its habitat. Or, perhaps you can be a marine biologist and care for the waterways. For the creative kids, bring your art journal and a pencil as this playground has lots of inspiration for drawing, or make some ephemeral sculptures from natural found objects. For the little kids, bring your sand toys, automobiles and mermaids that can be used in the sand or water.

Accessibility

Flat paths all around the playground make access easy for prams, walking aids, and wheelchairs. There is plenty of parking, including designated disabled parking. The playground has covered picnic tables, bench seats, chairs and lots of sandstone blocks to sit on.

Shade cloth and trees provide shade but some areas are still in the full sun so bring sun protection.

Accessible toilets are a short walk from the playground. Unfortunately, this park is not fenced.

Why is it called Alexander Clark Park?

Alexander Clark served as a councillor for the Albert Shire, and it’s noteworthy that Alexander Clark Park now occupies the land where his family’s dairy farm once stood.

What we thought of Alexander Clark Park

It’s easily our new favourite park, which is worth the drive. We especially loved the water play zone and the many climbing, balancing and jumping opportunities. The big shady trees and aesthetically pleasing playground provided a relaxing backdrop when it was time to stop for a little picnic. Next time we will pack scooters as the scooter/bike track looks awesome.

Alexander Clark Park is located on Dewar Drive in Loganholme.
