Jindalee Park has bright colours, fabulous fort structures, and play equipment spreading down a hill over multiple levels. There is also lots of grass, making it a perfect after-school playground on a sunny day!
Jindalee Park playground
Jindalee Park’s multi-level playground is great for primary school-aged Brisbane Kids. There are plenty of things to climb, like a rope net and a shorter wall with hexagonal footholds to climb over, plus bridges and tunnels to navigate. Slides and a fireman poles then bring adventurers back to ground level at a speedy pace. At the same time, stairs connect the different levels of the playground.
Toddlers will be happy to find a few items to interact with at lower ground level. Under one of the forts are some sliding coloured balls and a bench window to play shops, while an infant swing can be found on the lowest level of the playground.
The boulders on the edge of the lower playground allow children to walk along uneven surfaces, challenging their balance and engaging their core for stability. Sloping hills border the playground. These would be wonderful to run up and roll down. In addition, the large grassy area is perfect for a game of tag or as a place to fly gliders.
Imagination Factor
With all the bridges and green grassy fields, this park is perfect for a Three Billy Goats Gruff game. Will the little goats safely make it over the troll’s bridge and into the meadow? Naturally, games of tiggy or hide and seek around the playground, among the surrounding trees or in the adjacent field are great options too.
Accessibility
There is no specific special needs equipment at Jindalee Park. There are stairs and uneven ground to access all areas except the water tap and shaded picnic table, so this destination is not recommended for people who use mobility aides and want to be part of the action. Moving a pram around this playground may also be difficult. Unfortunately, there are no toilets at this playground.
What We Thought of Jindalee Park
When visiting Jindalee Park, we had a brilliant time using the bridges and tunnels in our play. My Brisbane Kid made one platform his cubby house, and we had a blast as we raced little cars down the double slide. I found the location, with its green fields and open space, very pleasant.
