ANZAC Park Toowong is all about giant trees, duck ponds and flying foxes. What isn’t there to enjoy about this North Brisbane Playground?!
ANZAC Park playground
ANZAC Park features swings, seesaws, climbing structures and ladders. In fact, it has everything a little adventurer could want. The playground is unfenced and sprawling with heaps of green space to run around. There’s a vintage farmer’s ute, rockers, swings and a see-saw.
Kids can really soar on the multi-directional basket swing, or further up the hill is a fantastic flying fox.
A large two-storey climbing fort has a plastic tunnel slide and smaller regular slide, small climbing walls and a wobbly bridge linking the two towers. A fully fenced sandpit is great for the younger kids.
This leafy Toowong park has lots of grass to cushion Brisbane Kids as they play with a ball or chase their friends. Facilities include toilets, water, barbeques and shelters.
A dog off-leash area is located over a small hill from the playground.
A sweet pond in the park often has ducks to feed but is not fenced, so beware if you have a roaming toddler. With its walking and cycling tracks, Anzac Park is popular with cyclists and runners.
Imagination Factor
Inspired by the farmer’s ute, kids might load up their produce or livestock and head for the markets in town. Perhaps digging in the sandpit mimics a gardener in their vegetable patch or cultivating a wild garden. Is the little adventurer trip trapping their way across the wobbly bridge of the fort, escaping what lurks below?
Accessibility
Anzac Park at Toowong has a playground that is unfenced, as is the pond area. Picnic shelters and barbeques are located throughout.
The play equipment is predominantly sheltered by shady trees. Anzac has wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities although the toilets aren’t particularly convenient to the playground, they are across the roadway, about 300 meters away.
