Separating Everton Hills from Mitchelton and Everton Park is Boundary Park, a lovely leafy park with a brightly coloured playground perfect for younger Brisbane Kids.
Boundary Park – The Fun
A small neighbourhood playground, Boundary Park in Everton Hills has a transport themed, brightly coloured play structure features gears and cogs and a steering wheel, whilst the spring rocker is styled to look like a motorbike. Other features of the playground include an infant swing and a regular swing over rubber matting, a slide, a spinning pole and an awesome spider’s web climbing structure. Adjacent to the playground is a picnic shelter with table, an electric barbeque and a water fountain. This picnic area separates the playground from a large playing field with a basketball half court and cricket nets. There is plenty of shade at Boundary Park and, even though it is situated on the corner of a fairly busy street, here is plenty of planting on the corner of the park to keep it well protected from the road. Kedron Brook does run through this playground, but again, dense planting divides this area and deters children from venturing too far.
Imagination Factor
Boundary Park is perfect for younger Brisbane Kids who love cars and transport. The fort structure demands games of trucks and buses, whilst kids can have fun scooting away from the baddies on the motorbike rocker. The climbing net challenges primary school aged Brisbane Kids escaping giant spiders and crocodiles below.
Special Needs
There are no specific special needs facilities at Boundary Park. Paths lead around the border of the park, but do not run to the playground. Boundary Park has an electric barbeque and one picnic shelter with one table on a nice flat concrete base. There is a water fountain and an adaption for dogs to have a drink, however there are no toilet facilities.
