Challenge the family to a life size game of Snakes & Ladders then cool off with a refreshing swim in the ocean at Pierce Park in Maroochydore.
Pierce Park – The Fun
With the addition of an awesome giant Snakes & Ladders game, the revamped playground in Pierce Park in Maroochydore is fun for the whole family. The old fort structure with slide and climbing ramp has been kept while the new section of the playground has been built up over a small mound behind it. The Snakes and Ladders path winds up the ‘hill’ and meets the fort structure at the top providing a glimpse of the ocean over the sand dunes. There are two twin slides perfect for racing, a small flat net to climb over and large stone steps providing more climbing opportunities. A double swing set, bouncy rocker and balance circle complete the playground. Three sheltered picnic tables and two electric barbeques make the park a great place for a party or lunch. A small section of open grass area provides space for running and kicking a ball about. When it’s time to cool off, there is beach access at the end of Melrose Parade.
Imagination Factor
The giant Snakes & Ladders game will entertain big and little kids alike, spin the wheel and see who makes it to the top first! Younger children will enjoy spinning the wheel even if a game isn’t in process or racing friends on the duel slides. Little mountaineers can clamber up and over the large rocks putting their gross motor skills to the test.
Special Needs Factor at Pierce Park
Pierce Park’s playground has a soft fall base with a wide path and gradual incline on the Snakes & Ladders game making it wheelchair and pram friendly. Street parking is available and there are paths from the street to the playground, toilets and running length of the park. The unisex toilet block has one disabled toilet. Be sure to take sunscreen and hats, as the park is only partly shaded by trees.
