  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Splash and Play Adventure Park Ripley

Last Updated: September 20, 2023

Take the fun to new heights at Splash ‘n’ Play Adventure Park South Ripley where the playground boasts a unique netted skywalk linking to two epic slides and a generous water play zone. Add to this a café, lots of green space and numerous picnic shelters it’s easy to see how it has become a favourite destination park for Brisbane families.

Splash ‘n’ Play Adventure Park Playground

The rapidly expanding region of the Ripley Valley is home to several state-of-the-art playgrounds and the Splash ‘n’ Play Adventure Park is a jewel in the crown. The playground was designed with all age groups in mind which can be seen from the towering sky cabins that stand an impressive 7.5 metres from the ground to the small, garden-themed see saw and butterfly climbing structure.

Sky cabins are connected by a fully enclosed series of rope bridges which provide safety for little feet. Exiting the playground is part of the fun and can be done via a straight tubular slide, a twisted mega slide or by climbing back down either of the two netted ladders. This section of the adventure park is best suited to those over 5’s due to the height of the equipment although it is certainly an achievable feat for confident, younger climbers.

After exploring the heights of the large playground there is also a flying fox, a small swing set and other more toddler friendly options in the neighbouring play area.

Splash ‘n’ Play

Directly across from the playground is a mostly shaded, multi-age Splash ’n’ Play area which is complete with water fountains, movable wiggly sprayers, button-controlled jets and waterfall arches. This area is split into two sections which allow smaller children to enjoy some water play away from the excitement of the larger splash zone. This area is covered in a non-slip rubber base upping the safety factor and ample seating has been provided for close supervision.

Coffee

Another big tick for families is the Forty West Café which is located at the top of the adventure park and serves delicious coffee and food seven days a week. A takeaway coffee would be a great option here as a tall garden partially blocks the view between the café seating and playground below. You might even be able to enjoy a sip or two while the kids navigate their way through the skywalk above!

Imagination Factor

Splash ‘n’ Play Adventure Park has been designed to ignite young imaginations by encouraging Brisbane kids to explore their environment in a multi-sensory way. Elements of climbing, spinning, falling and water play right through to the diverse underfoot coverings all help to build a physically and mentally challenging experience.

Similar to other Ripley playgrounds, like Faye Carr Park, this playground is impressive. The scale of the main playground aims to test personal limitations and invites children to view their world from a different perspective. Although tamer in nature, the toddler-specific equipment is visually appealing with colourful shapes and creatures that suit the natural environment.

Accessibility

Accessibility has been taken into consideration with wide, flat concrete pathways that are wheelchair and pram friendly. The café can be accessed from the playground via a set of stairs or through pathways connecting to the car park. There are also several accessible toilets and showers.

Providence Adventure Park Ripley features

  • Accessible toilets
  • Not fenced although set back from road
  • Largely shaded playground and water play
  • Zero-depth Splash ‘n’ Play area
  • A mixture of bark, artificial turf and rubber base
  • Family-friendly café
  • Showers
  • Picnic shelters
  • BBQs
  • Open kick-around area
  • Ample on-site parking

The water park is open from 8am to 6pm daily in the warmer months (1 September to 31 March) and from 10am to 4pm from 1 April to 31 August.

Nearby to Providence Adventure Park in South Ripley is Brooking Parklands, and, for other water play areas nearby, you could head to River Heart Parklands. Providence is part of a planned community with over 200 hectares of green space. Sounds like a wonderful place for families to live.

What We Thought of Splash ‘n’ Play Adventure Park

We think this playground more than earns its title as an “adventure park” with elements designed to thrill and delight toddlers through to teens. The inclusion of a café and a number of large picnic shelters make it a great choice for birthday parties, end-of-year school celebrations or even parents groups. We also appreciate the opportunity for great, free water play, especially during a Queensland summer!
