  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Aquatic Paradise West Park

Last updated: October 9, 2022

Do you love a park with a water view? Then head down to The Redlands and explore Aquatic Paradise West Park. Not only does this recently renovated park have majestic waterfront views, but there’s also a tiny beach, an off-leash dog area, and a playground that will keep the kids busy for hours.

Aquatic Paradise West Playground

Visit Aquatic Paradise during the school week and there’s a good chance you’ll have this secluded piece of paradise all to yourselves. This park is geared towards babies, toddlers, and children up to eight years old.

Babies and toddlers will love conquering the set of ‘soft fall’ stairs starting with the smallest Brisbane Kids. They’ll be rewarded with a mini double slide so all their little mates can slide down with them too.

Slightly older children can use their muscles and hoist themselves onto the main play equipment. They’re rope bridges to conquer, a fireman’s pole and a double slide to whizz down. Nearby there’s a spinning disc for kids to hop onto. Who will take the next turn to push everyone around?

Hop on over to the mini ropes course. There are rope-based monkey bars, braided balancing ropes, and stepping stones made from soft fall materials. There are also more stepping stones and a metal balancing beam on the other side of the park.

Next to the park, you’ll find a large tree with huge sturdy limbs. If the kids tire of the park (they won’t) this tree is another place for oodles of fun.

One of our favourite things at Aquatic Paradise West Playground is the secluded beach nearby. This sandy nook is the perfect space to make sand castles and splash in the bay.

Imagination Factor

Aquatic Paradise West Park lends itself well to a Robinson Crusoe-style adventure, with rope challenges not unlike those that might happen aboard a shop on the high seas!

Accessibility

Maybe it’s time to see who can swing the highest. There are two swings at the park including an all-abilities swing so everyone can get involved in the fun. And when those little legs need a break, head over to the park’s hammock with water views. There’s a good chance you’ll spot a boat leaving the canals and heading out to sea.

There is a council-maintained accessible toilet block nearby.

Bring the Bikes

Aquatic Paradise Park is located at the end of a 1.5k flat esplanade walking path. It’s the perfect place for toddlers taking off their training wheels or big kids who want to put the pedal to the metal. This quiet esplanade is a welcome change from the busy seaside trails in other parts of Brisbane. It is also part of a bigger 3.5km loop to Beth Boyd Park.

If your kids love animals keep your eyes peeled for migrating shorebirds. They make a long journey from Siberia to these wetlands every year.

The bike path also meanders through a fenced, dog off-leash area. Our writer took their Labrador, and they were loving running after their tiny humans as they rode their bikes through the area. Of course, if your child has a fear of dogs, you might want to skip this section.
