Three, two, one…blast off at the vibrant Faye Carr Park Ripley – the rocket ship themed playground designed with the whole community in mind.
The impressive trio of pods is undoubtedly the key attraction but it is the separate toddler playground, basketball court, fitness equipment and learn-to-ride track that cements the “rocket ship park” as a new family favourite.
Faye Carr Park Playground
The visually striking pods of red and green can be easily seen from Ripley Rd and have become a popular landmark of the Ecco Ripley development since opening in 2018.
The custom Tri-Tower system by Playscape Creations is so unique it is a first for the Australian market. Each differently sized pod is home to sensory delights including cogs, steering equipment and rainbow spinning wheels and are all connected via a bridge.
The exterior is just as fun, with multiple ladders, slides, staircases and fireman poles providing a variety of entry and exit options for young rocketeers.
More able climbers can also find hidden surprises in the upper level of the central rocket tower however, access was closed for maintenance upon last visit.
Nearby the main playground is also a small, toddler playground complete with mini slide, ladder and puzzles. The play space contains plenty of opportunities for social playing, including a five-person swinging circle and rotating net climber. There is also a see-saw and double-track flying fox to ensure no one is left out of the fun.
Sports enthusiasts are also well catered for with the middle section of the parklands dedicated to active living. Multipurpose fields can host a variety of sports including soccer, rugby and basketball while an outdoor workout zone will more than satisfy the grown-up gym fanatics. Picnic shelters and BBQs are also available and make the ideal setting for a summer sausage sizzle.

Faye Carr Park Toddler Playground
On the other side of the parklands, to the northern end of Joy Chambers Circuit is a playground fully devoted to the little ones so if you are looking for things to do with toddlers, this is your park!
This fully shaded, snakes and ladder-themed play area is perfect for one to five year olds with its low thrill level and big imagination factor. The ground level playground is packed with musical toys and learning prompts while sensory seekers will enjoy the spinning, climbing and digging equipment placed throughout the area.
Adjacent to this is a small and unshaded learn to ride track with proper road signage and plenty of bench seating for supervision. Remember that the only toilet facilities are located near the main playground and approximately 200 metres from the toddler playground.
Imagination Factor
Faye Carr Park Ripley brilliantly uses colour and abstract rocket shapes to set the tone for endless imaginary play opportunities.
Each pod is uniquely different from the next, which is visually appealing and promotes a sense of discovery. Over 20 developmental activities between the main and toddler playgrounds allow for an educational style of play in a fun, outdoor setting.
A real emphasis has been placed on social play with the inclusion of the shared swing circle, rotating net climber and multi-track flying fox which encourages greater participation.
Accessibility
The parklands are wheelchair and pram friendly with a flat footpath system connecting all elements from the rocket ships to the toddler playground. The seated playground equipment such as the adaptive swing, see saw and net climber have also been designed for inclusivity by providing increased upper body support.
