If you are looking for a great park for slightly older kids who love a challenge, with a large tower and epic slides, then Castamore Way Park in Richlands should be high on your must visit list.
Castamore Way Park playground
The first thing that will catch your eye when you approach Castamore Way Park is the large, green tower.
The climb up to the top of the tower is quite the challenge and initially takes a bit of courage and concentration. There are climbing nets, platforms and steps to conquer before reaching the top. Then, enjoy the views of the surrounding landscape from high above.
To get back to ground level there are two slides; the biggest has several twists and is enclosed, the other slide is a ‘fast slide’ which might take you by surprise if you are not expecting a speedy decline.
On the ground level there are two swings; one flat and one cradle. There is also a seesaw and a speed gyro to test balancing skills.
While Castamore Way Park playground is unfenced, it is a decent distance away from roads. Shade sails cover the playground equipment; it has a soft fall base.
There is lots of open green space for a ball game, frisbee or a picnic on a rug.
Imagination Factor at Castamore Way Park
The tower structure at Castamore Way Park resembles a large tree with leaves and grass motifs. As you climb, imagine you are a native animal trying to find a new hiding hole or home in the tall tree.
For the smaller children, use the ground level ropes to create a maze.
Accessibility at Castamore Way Park
There are flat paths all around the playground, down to Progress Road and up to Castamore Way giving easy access. There is very limited street parking on Castamore Way. There is a covered picnic table, bench seats and sandstone blocks to sit on.

What We Thought of Castamore Way Park
I am a fan of the cradle seat style swing for my toddler. Therefore, we spent ages at the swings while my 5-year-old climbed the tower and zoomed down the slides many times.
This playground is best suited for slightly older kids who are confident climbing with little to no adult assistance.
