Silver Jubilee Park is a real treat for active Brisbane families. This brightly coloured, obstacle course-style playground is visually striking. The surrounding area, with basketball courts and playing fields, is impressive too. There is ample space for picnics, BBQs, and many accessible play options.
Silver Jubilee Park Playground
This new playground is another incredible example of local councils providing families with interesting outdoor play and recreation spaces.
The playground is like a three-dimensional game board or obstacle course. Brightly coloured soft fall mounds divide the play space. These hills and the surrounding paths act as interactive elements with activity prompts and games printed over them.
The toddler play area in front of the mounds is called the Music Trail. Here, children will find musical tubes and drums to create sound. There is an orbiting basket swing to enjoy, while a double wave slide and a fun tunnel make use of the nearby mound.
Travelling through the tunnel leads to the Adventure Play Track. Prompts on the ground guide kids through a series of challenges and activities that incorporate the playground equipment. In this space, there are hills to crawl up and abseil down. Several rope elements provide opportunities to climb. The climber’s skill will determine how to use the rope bridge, net nest and balance ropes.
Printed along the paved area of the park is a giant game of snakes and ladders. It’s a great option to engage everyone in some play.
The abstract multifunction court is a sweet spot to practice shooting hoops, while the basketball courts are the perfect place for a game. For Brisbane Kids who like to run or play ball games, there are two large fields with goalposts providing plenty of space for everyone’s favourite sports.
Imagination Factor at Silver Jubilee Park
Silver Jubilee Park is a place where little athletes can live out their sporting dreams. Become an Olympic hero as you race around the track, tackling the challenges and striving for your personal best time.
Other games like tiggy, floor is lava and hide and seek can also be played, while a less energetic option might be playing explorers scaling to new heights.
Accessibility at Silver Jubilee Park
There are lots of accessible options to explore at this location. Most areas can be reached by travelling along smooth pathways. Children using a wheelchair could race friends along the play tracks that border the play area and cross over the mounds.
There are musical elements to explore, and shade sails cover the play equipment. Neurodivergent children may enjoy looking for mathematical patterns on the game boards.

What We Thought of Silver Jubilee Park
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Silver Jubilee Park. It is an excellent space for the community, with options for the whole family to come together.
Master Four had a blast riding his scooter over the hills and pathways. I loved the concrete path that surrounds the fields. Here, parents can go for a jog or walk the dog while the kids play on the field or ride their bikes and scooters around the path. Maintaining a clear line of sight with children is easy as the fields are flat.
Spring Mountain has some fantastic parks, including Spring Mountain Lagoon Park and Spring Mountain Reserve.
