Shailer Pioneer Park caters for all age groups. This park, with sporting arenas and a playground is perfect for the whole family.

Shailer Pioneer Park

This park boasts an amazing skate park that has benches and rails to grind and plenty of ramps. There is a full sized basketball court and two full sized tennis courts. Beside the this popular Logan City Skate park there is exercise equipment to do a short routine on.

Behind the courts is a shaded playground with soft rubber landing mats and sand. There is a toilet block and plenty of gas BBQs and covered picnic tables. Shailer Pioneer Park also has a fantastic grass field to play more sports, fly a kite or throw a Frisbee.

Shailer Pioneer Park’s fantastic playground has a play structure for preschool age children with two sides to it. On one side children can pretend to be driving a truck whilst on the other side is a house. There is a slide and arched climbing wall to reach the top. There is also a fireman’s pole. This is great to encourage gross motor skills, through climbing and also has wonderful imaginative play possibilities with driving the truck to playing house.

The larger play structure is more suited to children of school age. It has a climbing wall, very high slippery slide and a shorter slide and monkey bars. This structure is great for children to push their limits with height and also test their skills at climbing and swinging.

There is a web climbing structure that seems to draw the crowds as each child tries to climb higher and higher, whilst the smaller ones swing from the lower strands. The swing set has both baby and standard swing and there are rockers too. There is also a hammock.

Imagination Factor

We love the small sensory garden with pathway to a park bench. Children hop from step to step amongst the native flora. This is a peaceful little nook where children can imagine fairies and animals or simply take some time out from busy play.

Accessibility

Although this park is wheel chair accessible, there is no special equipment for special needs. There are wheelchair accessible toilet facilities however. Shade sails protect the playground and there are several shelters throughout the area.
