  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

One destination, two great options. It’s not just a skatepark; it offers much more than that. Along with a playground, scooter track, nature play area and basketball half-court, it is an amazing location for families with children of various ages. Toilets and picnic tables are also available, making it convenient for visitors to enjoy a long play session at this wonderful location.

Coorparoo Skatepark

Coorparoo skatepark is a popular destination for skateboarders and scooter riders. It boasts a variety of challenging street-style obstacles suitable for riders of all levels, and the surfaces are decorated with eye-catching graffiti artwork.

The park contains various elements, such as banks, rails, blocks, and ledges. Additionally, there is a small steel mini-ramp and a funbox. The concrete surface of the park is smooth and well-maintained, providing a great surface for tricks and stunts.

The smooth ride of the 20-foot metal half-pipe is perfect for skateboarders who want to showcase their skills and creativity. With two distinct heights, this iconic structure provides ample opportunities for riders to impress.

The Common Park

Adjacent to the skatepark is a scooter track/pump track. This course circles the nature play area and consists of smooth flats and various challenges including banked turns and rollers. With options to avoid the obstacles, it is suitable for younger Brisbane Kids as well as more skilled riders.

The playground area is best suited to toddlers and primary school-aged children. The connected forts include a slide, swings, a small flying fox and a ground-level café window. Plenty of spring riders and dizzy sticks will entertain children who love to bounce and spin.

A nature play area lies between some trees and is surrounded by the scooter track. Logs and stepping stones provide a fun way to traverse the space while working on balance. There are pebbles, sticks and leaves to get creative with within this environment.

Aside from the tranquil atmosphere, this park is also a hub for recreational activities. It boasts a basketball half-court, a well-equipped gym for fitness enthusiasts, and shared pathways that are perfect for bike riding. Enjoy the open grassy spaces perfect for throwing a frisbee or playing ball games with friends for a more laid-back activity.

Imagination Factor at Coorparoo Skatepark and The Common Park

When they hit the park, young shredders can try to replicate Shane O’Neill’s flick and flow. A fairy garden of leaves and pebbles could be built in the nature play area. Little pirates can pretend to set sail on the Creek Dreamer, and track stars can sprint across the field like Torrie Lewis.

What We Thought of Coorparoo Skatepark and The Common Park

We thought this park was a real treasure. We loved the mix of play and sporting options available in the one location.

The scooter track was a big hit with my four-year-old as it was a great mix of smooth flats and challenging obstacles he could choose to engage with or ride around.

I had no trouble finding parking on my visit but, due to its location I imagine parking could be difficult during busy times.
