  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Last updated: February 27, 2024

Coupled with the safe swimming environment of Thompson’s Beach, WH Yeo Park provides a great family destination for picnics and play.

Featuring two seperate playgrounds, a basketball half-court, exercise equipment, lots of open green space plus BBQs, tables and seating, this Park has a little of bit of everything for everyone.

WH Yeo Park

WH Yeo Park in Victoria Point is a huge space with plenty of shade, ideal for hours of family fun.

The fully fenced playground is protected by large shade cloths and has a soft sand base. The zoo-themed play equipment is best suited for smaller kids with rockers, steps, platforms, slides and nets to keep busy children happy.

The unfenced playground has lots of different equipment for children of a variety of ages. The playground features balancing equipment, a flying fox, swings, slides and climbing structures on a soft sand base. It is covered by shade structures and established trees, so is a nice option in the warmer weather.

For older Brisbane Kids, there is a basketball half-court and plenty of open spaces to run and kick a ball in.

Shelters with picturesque outlooks, BBQs and toilet facilities make this a great spot for a day-long outing or picnic, as does the close proximity to shops.

The sandy Thompson’s Beach is semi sheltered, and waters are generally calm – perfect for fishing with kids or a paddle. Bring a towel, swimmers and change of clothes and ample sun protection.

Imagination Factor at WH Yeo Park

The fenced playground, showcasing a zoo theme is ideal for little explorers to roar loudly and bounce around, while the older kids will enjoy the unfenced playground, trying their skills on the balancing equipment and flying fox. You can even test your skills walking the tightrope and flying on the trapeze.

Small clusters of trees will entice children to walk through the forest, looking for wildlife and insects as they go.

For the beach lovers, digging in the sand on the seashore, looking for shells and making sandcastles is a fun way to spend some time while in the area.

Accessibility at WH Yeo Park

The play areas of WH Yeo Park are sheltered, with large trees and shade cloth, but much of the greater space is exposed to the elements.

BBQs, shelters and bench seats are scattered throughout the park perfect for picnics. There is also plenty of shady and grassy places to relax in and soak up the seaside vibe.

Accessible toilets are located near the fenced playground. The bike and walking paths along the esplanade are very wheelchair and pram friendly.

What We Thought of WH Yeo Park

Thompsons Beach near WH Yeo Park at Victoria Point.

Our family enjoyed a variety of activities at his spacious park by the water. Parking near the fenced playground, we spent time playing there before discovering the other playground (unfenced).

We enjoyed sitting under a shady tree for morning tea and watching the boats. We especially loved the relaxing walk along the esplanade gathering treasures along the way.
