Wynnum Skate Park
The range of different features and the amount of space make for a fun experience for skateboards, scooters, bikes, rollerblades or skates. Kids experimenting with parkour and testing their climbing skills will also enjoy this park. These obstacles are spread out so there are opportunities for many people to be using the park at once without colliding.
The super-smooth surface means that if someone does take a tumble, they’re more likely to slide than take off any skin. There is usually a broad mix of ages at this park, from toddlers through to adults, but most visitors are respectful of the other park visitors and turn-taking and good manners are the norm. Beginners will enjoy the thrill of testing their skills on smooth slopes and there are lots of places for more experienced riders to perform tricks.
The Wynnum Playground
Primrose Park also features a great local playground visible from the skate park that includes a climbing fort with slide, merry-go-rounds and swings. The playground has shade sails to provide some cover and is surrounded by leafy green trees. The park has a range of picnic tables, barbecues, a toilet block as well as a basketball area and a range of paths that are fun to explore for those preferring a flatter surface.
