Spring Mountain Reserve has something for everyone! There’s a large playground area, fitness equipment, shaded picnic tables and even a ninja-style obstacle course. Situated South West of Brisbane City at Greenbank, Spring Mountain is a beautiful area surrounded by farms and forest and this reserve is situated beside a waterway.
Spring Mountain Reserve Playground
A major drawcard of Spring Mountain Reserve is the fun ninja style obstacle course. This course loops around and allows Brisbane Kids of all ages to challenge themselves with different ninja style obstacles similar to those they might have seen on TV. It includes hurdles, spinning wheels, balance beams, stepping stones, monkey bars and a climbing wall and cargo net. Older Brisbane kids might even enjoy racing each other or the clock to complete this fun course.

There’s also a traditional playground on a sand base with swings and a rocket ship shaped climbing structure with 2 slides from the lower platform and a high upper platform that can be accessed via a climbing net. This play area also has a large climbing net tunnel, see saw, a spinning seat and a car.
The part of the playground closest to the picnic tables has a soft fall base and large half spheres which would allow toddlers to play close to where their adults are sitting.
The fitness area has a variety of exercise equipment and a miniature obstacle and balancing course for younger Brisbane kids which is a great design, allowing closer supervision for little ones while parents work out.
There’s also a half court basketball court and mini football field with goal posts for a range of different ball sports.
The focus on fitness continues with the park playing host to the Greenbank Park Run with distanced tracks and maps permanently in place.
Another wonderful feature of Spring Mountain Reserve is the adjacent waterway which attracts a variety of wildlife. There are signs of kangaroos in the area as well as pelicans, cormorants, wrens, and the park trees contain nesting boxes to assist the local animals and birds.
Imagination Factor Spring Mountain Reserve
The ninja course invites Brisbane Kids to role-play their very own ninja warrior competition. The vehicle (car and rocket) themed play equipment encourages a variety of adventures and the net structure could become anything! A spider web, a cave, a space station, a nest – the only limit is imagination.
Accessibility at Spring Mountain Reserve
The sand base to the play area and nature of the equipment means that this playground is unfortunately not wheelchair friendly. However, there are accessible toilet facilities and parking close to the park.
