Brisbane Kids will have so much fun exploring this large park on the north side of Brisbane which has something for almost everyone, including the dog!
Frank Nichols Reserve – The Fun
For the big kids there are two basketball hoops, a cricket net, a large open space for Frisbee or football, and BMX mounds for bike riding and jumping. For younger children, there are two separate playgrounds, linked by a bridge. One playground features a climbing structure, a pedal power helicopter and a two-person pedal power ride. The second playground features a fort, rocker, two slides, a climbing frame and swing set. All the playground equipment is set in a base of chip bark. If you also have a four-legged child, the park grounds include a dog off leash area. If you want to stay longer, bring a picnic or make use of the BBQ facilities. There are lots of shady trees in the park but both playgrounds are open to the elements, so remember to “slip, slop, slap”.
Imagination Factor
Younger children will love pretending they are a helicopter pilot, a mountain climber or an Olympic bike rider. The range of play equipment at this park makes for a wide variety of play experiences. It would also be a great park to host a birthday party or hold a treasure hunt!
Special Needs
The park is mostly flat, and it would be possible to bring a pram or wheelchair, but there are limited pathways available.
