Whether it is flowers, fresh produce, homemade products or a classic vintage treasure you seek, there is bound to be one that meets your needs just a stone’s throw away from your front door.
Like their day-lit cousins, Night Markets are especially popular in our city. Containing all the usual finds but with a glittering of fairy lights and festive sounds, there is something just a little bit magical about the many night markets that sprinkle our gorgeous city. If you are looking to head out after hours and immerse yourself beneath the twinkling of lights, then check out list below of Brisbane night markets to visit.
Note: As Christmas approaches, you will notice an increase in night markets and Christmas markets across the city, it really is the most wonderful time of the year!
South Brisbane Twilight Vegan Markets
The South Brisbane Twilight Vegan Markets, held at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds, will see visitors enjoying vegan friendly food and drinks while undertaking a spot of cruelty-free shopping. Your friendly dog is also welcome.
When: 5pm – 9pm first Friday of the month
Where: Mt Gravatt Showgrounds, Logan Road, Mt Gravatt
Entry Fee: FREE
What will you find: A full range of vegan food and drinks.
Other: Live music.
The Collective Markets
A firm favourite right in the heart of South Bank, The Collective Markets have been described as a vibrant cultural melting pot set in the artisan’s heart of Brisbane.
When: Friday 5pm – 9pm and Saturday 10am – 9pm
Where: Stanley Street Plaza, South Bank
Entry Fee: FREE
What will you find: Food stalls as well as an eclectic mix of original art, photography, unique gifts, trending fashion and vintage clothing.
Other: Live music and the South Bank kids’ playground is all lit up for a nighttime play.
Old Petrie Town Moonlight Market
When: 5pm – 9pm last Friday of the month
Where: Old Petrie Town, 901 Dayboro Road, Whiteside
Entry Fee: FREE
What will you find: Food from a variety of cuisines to enjoy at the peaceful Old Petrie Town. Classic cars also line the Main Street and will be sure to keep the car enthusiasts busy.
Other: Live entertainment and music and activities for the kids often including animals and reptile shows.
Eat Street Northshore
The original late night container-filled wonderland of food, drink, markets and entertainment all with city and river views, Eat Street Northshore is one not to miss!
When: 4pm – 10pm every Friday and Saturday, 4pm – 9pm Sunday
Where: 221D Macarthur Avenue, Hamilton
Entry Fee: $5.00 per person , Under 12’s FREE
What will you find: Shipping containers bursting with wondrous food and drink options, market stalls, bars, live entertainment and kids play spaces all beneath a blanket of fairy lights and stars.
Other: A main stage featuring top local & touring bands, solo artists, laneway jazz bands and big-screen entertainment.
Mt Gravatt Street Food
A suburban version of the bigger city night food markets, The Mt Gravatt Street Food offers a smorgasbord from over 60 different food vans and vendors to its visitors. Don’t be fooled by its suburban address though, this market pumps with an amazing atmosphere and crowd.
When: 4pm – 9pm every Saturday
Where: Mt Gravatt Showgrounds, Logan Road, Mt Gravatt
Entry Fee: $2.00 adults, Under 16’s FREE
What will you find: Everything you can think of… Italian, Asian, BBQ, seafood, paella, crepes, ice-creams, donuts and so much more!
Other: Live music and a shipping container bar.
Bite Markets at North Harbour
Please note – The Bite Markets CLOSED PERMANENTLY in November 2023.
When: 4pm – 10pm Friday and Saturday nights
Where: Nolan Drive, Morayfield (exit 150 off the M1)
Entry Fee: $3.00 adults, under 12’s FREE
What will you find: You will find a variety of cuisines and tasty treats from local food creators at The Bite Markets, with something for all members of the family. Friendly dogs on leads are also welcome.
Other: Live entertainment, activities for the kids and special events.
