Coffee and parenting go hand in hand like strawberries and sundaes, so when a great local cafe adds a play space to make it easier to get our caffeine fix and keep our little ones entertained, we sit up and take notice! White Horse Ranch has been a quality local cafe for years, offering great coffee and tasty treats and meals to locals in and around Albany Creek. We love seeing cafe’s that welcome the whole family (kids and furbabies too).
Located on Albany Creek Road at Albany Creek, White Horse Ranch is across the Road from Skateaway Roller Skating Rink and the Albany Creek Library.
The kids play area
White Horse Ranch have just added a new play space with a cubby and toys which not only signals that people with young children are tolerated here, but they’re welcomed and encouraged to come.
There are a whole range of toys, from bead mazes for the littlest fingers, to wooden blocks and toy food for creative and imaginative play. The cubby is always a hit and there are trucks and cars for busy little kids to push around. This area is fenced and gated and there is plenty of seating and tables nearby so it’s easy to supervise little ones while they play.
We suggest when you book, asking for a place near the kids area so you can relax with a coffee while your kids play.
The Food at White Horse Ranch
White Horse Ranch offers an all day breakfast menu
White Horse Ranch has a range of meals on their all day menu which means it’s breakfast time any time! There’s also a great kids menu featuring 4 sweet and savoury favourites for $8 each. There is also a range of cakes, pastries and other delicious treats in their window.
White Horse Ranch aim to feature fresh, local and seasonal produce, and have gluten free options and vegan dishes available and can cater to many food allergy requirements as well. BYO vegemite or other condiments to add to their toast and butter.
They are also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, with a share plate tapas-style menu as well as burgers and pizzas (and are well known for their delicious cocktails).
The coffee and other drinks
When you find a cafe that serves consistently good coffee you know you’re onto a winner. They have a great range of hot and cold drinks, as well as beer, wine, spirits and cocktails (including jugs for sharing) from 10am.
There is a range of beer on tap from $7 and glasses of wine start at $7 as well.
Other features
White horse ranch have a gift shop at the front of their cafe, supporting handmade goods from local Brisbane artisans. This is a great opportunity to pick up a unique gift for someone (or even get a treat for yourself).
We love that White Horse Ranch is also a dog friendly venue – well trained pups (and owners) are often seen enjoying food and drinks on the lawn.
