Perched upon a hill within the grounds of the Pullenvale Hall, you’ll find The Curious Caravan. This spot serves excellent coffee and tasty treats in a beautiful outdoor location where little ones can run freely or play with a selection of toys.
The Curious Caravan
Ever wanted to meet a friend for a coffee, but the thought of taking your little ones to an indoor café sounds far too challenging? Well, this place is your ideal venue. It’s outdoors, the coffee is excellent, and there is parking, toilets and toys!
Rolling green hills surround this beautiful spot in Pullenvale. While it is less than a 10-minute drive from Kenmore, you will feel like you’ve taken a trip into the country. The paddock next door even has horses!
This outdoor venue allows you to savour your coffee without parental guilt about your little Brisbane Kids not spending time in nature. There are tables under umbrellas or ample space to lay out a picnic blanket.
Little ones can be active; there is plenty of room, no need to worry about getting them to stay seated. Also, spills and crumbs aren’t a big deal because you are outside. It’s no wonder The Curious Caravan is so popular with families!
Most little kids will be engaged by a new toy (even if they have something similar at home they never play with). They will find a selection of donated toys to play with while at the venue.
This is a simple contribution, but the kids love it. The offering does change, but there is usually a collection of cars, dolls, figurines and other treasures. Sometimes there’s a racing track, a water play table or even some kids’ agility equipment.
The lovely team makes excellent coffee, plus plenty of other beverages if caffeine isn’t your thing. They also offer a selection of sweet and savoury treats, including vegan and gluten-free options. Locally made delights like freshly baked sourdough, earrings, lip gloss and hand-made ceramics are also available.
The Curious Caravan is open from 6:30 am to 12 pm every weekday. They are also occasionally open on Saturday mornings if markets are being held within the grounds of the Pullenvale Hall.
Accessibility at The Curious Caravan
While this is an outdoor location, the grounds of the Pullenvale Hall are flat enough for prams and wheelchairs to manoeuvre over. People using wheelchairs may require assistance at times. There is flat access to the amenities block; however, the toilet cubicles do not appear big enough for wheelchairs.

We love our visits to the Curious Caravan. The open green space is simply gorgeous. My little Brisbane Kid always finds a treasure in the toy collection to amuse him during our visits, and they make fabulous coffee. This spot is popular with families with little ones.
