Angela Ironside
Hotel Monier, 168-178 Monier Rd, Darra 4076 QLD
There is a large video games room with machines that work. On Friday nights there is free face painting for children in the room and on Saturday nights Johnny the Jester entertains the children free of charge to parents. Johnny is a magician, comedian, makes balloon animals, shows animals to the children – snake, bird, etc. All the children had a ball and we could hear them laughing for a long time. You can easily see the games room from the tables inside.
Meanwhile, John and I sat with our friends gorging on delicious meals from the very extensive menu. Presentation was fabulous, service was polite and efficient. Prices are very reasonable and cheaper than another popular child friendly venue nearby.

I really enjoy having a lindt hot chocolate at Site Cafe on St Vincents Road Banyo. My three kids love the colouring-in books and the toy box they have available …and of course their baby chinos 🙂 I also love the book shelf for book exchange as well. A really lovely family run business for families.

The last family I saw dining at the Chalk Hotel had a topless woman, wearing only a g string, body-painted in front of them. She then proceeded to wander around being drooled over by drunk men. Can’t get more kid friendly than that!
Admittedly, this was a few years back before I had children, but I find it hard to believe the place has changed that much.

I believe the indooroopily cafe, breathing space has closed (according to their website). This is a real shame!

I believe the indooroopily cafe, breathing space, has closed (according to their website). This is a real shame, as it had true child minding.

Bianca Judge
Hi There,
My name is Bianca Judge and I am the Functions & Events Manager at the Murrumba Downs Tavern. I noticed your website and thought what a great idea. As I use to teach I know how hard it can be for mums, especially when it come to socializing. This is why I am looking into mums groups and seeing if they would like to hold some here. We have a great playground in our Restaurant with sun shade and a top of the range coffee machine along with all other beverages.
We also have 2 function rooms, so if you would like the children to run around or the weather is not on the sunny side we can cater for that too!
Being a new Tavern everything is new, safe and family friendly. Our staff are excellent with children (some being mums them self’s). And our menu caters for all types tastes and dietary requirements. We also have party packs for the more able little ones so they can do some colouring in and play whilst waiting for their meal.
We are a local Tavern who believes in supporting our local community and take pride in making sure only the best quality and experience is provided to all our customers even the tiny ones!

It looks like King Country at Thornlands no longer has the jumping castle or baby animal farm, according to their FB page.
Frances McKay
Anyone else have any other reviews on King Country at Thornlands? Looking for a group celebration lunch venue for 30+ people on a Sunday. Lots of kids from toddler age to age 10.
How is the food? Is table service an option?
