It is hard to miss the ‘big pie’ and red roof of Yatala Pies when travelling north on the M1 – it’s a delicious pitstop which won’t disappoint! If you do not have enough time to get out of your car, stretch your legs and sit in the cafe, there is a very convenient and quick drive through option too.
About Yatala Pies
Yatala Pies is an iconic pie shop for good reason. The pies, sausage rolls and pasties have yummy flaky pastry and are absolutely mouth watering. If you have a sweet tooth, you are in for a real treat, as there is a big selection of sweet pastries available too.
Yatala Pies is a family-owned business that has been a landmark in the Yatala area for more than 100 years. In fact, Yatala Pies is one of the oldest pie shops in Australia.

There is plenty of seating available inside where you can enjoy the cool air conditioning, as well as lots of seating outside on the covered veranda. An ATM is available if you’re needing cash, otherwise there are EFTPOS facilities to pay at the counter.

- Sides – peas, potato and gravy are optional sides. Hot chips, with or without chicken salt are sure to keep the kids happy.

What We Thought Of Yatala Pies
Yatala Pies is such a convenient stop with kids! Parking was easy and getting inside was simple – we used the steps to enter and the ramp to exit with no troubles whatsoever. I’m a vegetarian, and I can totally recommend the vegan red Thai peanut curry parcel – it was delicious! My kids shared and thoroughly enjoyed a sausage roll and a spinach and fetta triangle, which they devoured. Let’s not forget the French vanilla slice, yum! We will be back!
