The Llama Farm – Pine Mountain
Unique Farm Animal Experiences
The Llama Farm is located in the rural area of Ipswich called Pine Mountain. The picturesque, rolling, green hills are home to Queensland’s biggest llama herd – each with its own distinct name, endearing personality and funky looks. The gentle nature of the animals allows guests to enjoy a real hands-on experience in a peaceful and safe environment.
Faces of the Farm Tour
Patting, feeding and taking a llama selfie are all included in the Faces of the Farm Tour. You’ll also meet many other friendly faces at this working farm, including camels (or lumpy llamas as they’re known here), donkeys, miniature ponies, rabbits and a fantastic collection of colourful poultry.
During the two hour tour you’ll learn all about llama farm life and help with some farmer duties like feeding the camels, brushing the miniature ponies and most importantly cuddling the resident, giant, fluffy bunnies.
Guided Llama Walks
If your kids are a bit older or you’re looking for a romantic date idea with a twist, then The Llama Farm also offers afternoon-guided llama walks. Each guest is allocated their very own llama for a two hour walk.
You and your llama will stroll through the farms beautiful grounds which back on to the Brisbane River and overlook Mount Samson in the distance. You’ll come away from this relaxing experience with a head full of interesting llama facts and undoubtedly some special memories and photos to take home with you.
Accessibility at The Llama Farm
The Llama Farm is a working farm not designed for wheelchair use. It has somewhat rocky and hilly terrain especially leading to and from the camel enclosure. A general fitness level is required, and prams or carriers are a good idea for small children whose little legs tire quickly.
There is one toilet on site which is not wheelchair accessible.
Parking is available within the grassed area at the entrance to the farm.
Admission Details
Online bookings are essential at The Llama Farm. The farm is only open on weekends, selected public holidays and some dates throughout the school holidays and these can book up months in advance, so book early to avoid disappointment.
