Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to swim? SEQwater has placed a boxed yellow buoy line at Walkabout Creek which has outlined the swimming area for safety. You’re not meant to swim outside of it, so do so at your own risk. It is recommended to join a group if it’s your first-time open water swimming, or to get a buoy buddy which can keep you afloat if you do get tired or get a cramp.
Is there storage for your belongings? You can leave your belongings next to the Walkabout Creek Adventures check in desk (staff are usually around the area unless they are in a briefing) at your own risk free of charge, or you can have your belongings locked in their safe box in their van for an additional $3.
What is the minimum age? Participants must be 8 years of age or older to participate in all individual day adventure activities, with minimum age of 5 years for tandem kayaking adventures (must be in a tandem with an adult).
