They are soft, sweet, and utterly adorable, but also somewhat elusive it seems when it comes to finding a real one near home. So where are all our fluffy friends hiding? If, like us, you would love to see some rabbits up close and personal we have found the best places in south east Queensland to do so.

Can you own a rabbit as a pet in Queensland?

Trevena Glen children with a rabbit

Unfortunately, as much as we would all love our own little Bugs Bunny as a pet at home, it is actually illegal to do so. This is because as cute as they seem, they actually cause severe land degradation and soil erosion and threaten the survival of many rare and endangered native species. Limited types of permits can be granted for domestic rabbits but only for research purposes, public display, magic acts, and circuses. Before a permit is granted, guidelines must be met.

Wild Rabbits

Current rabbit numbers are relatively low in South-east Queensland due in part to the Darling Downs-Moreton rabbit proof fence. Even so, it is possible to see rabbits in the wild in Brisbane and south east Queensland. They tend to live in areas where they can create burrows, with fallen trees and thick grass. They also like to be near the water.

Farms

Interactive Animal Area at White Ridge Farm

If you would love to cuddle a rabbit up close, there are several farms in south-east Queensland that have permission to keep them as barnyard pets.

White Ridge Farm

Nestled between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, White Ridge Farm is located just 5 minutes away from Caboolture and 8 minutes from the Bruce Highway. The farm is massive, with a lot to see and do, but it is the interactive animal area where their resident rabbits live. Here, you can meet with some pretty fluffy friends and even give them a brush and a feed.

Address: 130 Hamilton Rd, Elimbah

Trevena Glen Farm

Trevena Glen Farm offers visitors unique, hands-on experiences with all of their animals. They are licenced to display rabbits, and if you visit the farm, you can collect vegetables from their garden and then feed and interact with their pet rabbits.

Address: 1100 Winn Road, Mount Samson

The Llama Farm

Ipswich’s Llama Farm may be well known for its unique llama population but you won’t want to leave without visiting Floppsy, Moppsy, Toffee and Pepper too. These are their resident Flemish Giants, which are one of the oldest and largest breeds of rabbits in the world.

Address: 563 Riverside Drive, Pine Mountain

Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World

A visit to Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird world will see you wandering through picturesque gardens, marvelling at the array of exotic birds and patting the cutest animals at Farm Friends. It is here you can also get up close with the very fluffy and serious adorable rabbits which call the farmyard their home.

Address: 233 Maleny-Stanley River Road, Maleny.

Sanctuaries and Zoos

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary have recently added a new addition to their vast animal collection – rabbits!  With the opening of their Outback Springs experience the sanctuary have introduced a range of barnyard animals to meet, feed and play with. Amongst there are group of rare Lop-Eared Rabbits alongside other rabbit breeds.

Address: 28 Tomewin St, Currumbin

Wildlife HQ

Wildlife HQ is one of our favourite, family-friendly zoos. Located right next to the Big Pineapple, its spacious grounds are filled with a huge array of animals – both native and exotic – including rabbits too! If you want to see these guys when at the zoo, they actually have an enclosure dedicated to rabbits and guinea pigs..

Address: 76 Nambour Connection Road, Woombye

Party Entertainment

Easter bunnies

Old Macdonald’s Travelling Farm

Old Macdonald’s Travelling Farms can bring the rabbits to you! With a number of mobile farms operating in and around south east Queensland, you can book their barnyard animals in for a visit next time you are thinking of hosting a party at home. There are rabbits to meet, feed and pet galore!

Magicians

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “pull a rabbit out of a hat”? Derived from the famous magician’s trick of pulling one out of their top hat, there are actually quite a few magicians in and around Brisbane that perform this trick in their act. One such act is Awesome Adam, who you can hire for your kids’ party and comes complete with a fluffy bunny that miraculously appears!

Symbols of Easter https://brisbanekids.com.au/symbols-of-easter/ https://brisbanekids.com.au/symbols-of-easter/#respond Sun, 24 Mar 2024 00:48:00 +0000 https://brisbanekids.com.au/?p=315477 Every year as Easter comes around, shops and homes are filled with an array of different Easter-themed symbols and traditions.  From bunnies, hot-cross buns and coloured eggs, to crosses, chickens and more – they are staples in almost any promotional item or decoration.  If you have ever wondered why these items, in particular, are the symbols of Easter, then keep reading.

Why do we celebrate Easter?

To understand why so many of the symbols of Easter are used, it is important to go back to to the origins of why we celebrate this day each year in the first place.

One of the most important dates in the Christian calendar, the Easter three-day long weekend celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In the Bible, Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday.  He was then buried for three days before being resurrected and gaining new life on Easter Sunday.  For this reason, so many of the symbols of Easter are centred around the cross and the creation of new life.

Symbols of Easter

The Cross

One of the most powerful religious Easter symbols is the cross.  In the Bible, Jesus is said to have been crucified on the cross on Good Friday. This symbol represents the Christian belief of not only the sacrifices Jesus made in dying to save our sins but in the miracle of him rising again on the third day.

Hot cross buns

The Christmas tinsel has only just come down, and almost immediately, the supermarkets are overflowing with hot cross buns.  For many people, they are the first sign that Easter is on its way, and a store filled with warm, tasty favourites is usually emptied just as quickly by eager shoppers.

The small square buns feature a cross made of flour paste across the top, which of course symbolises the cross on which Jesus Christ died. The spices in hot cross buns are said to represent those used to prepare Christ for the tomb.

You can have a go at making your own hot cross buns from this popular online recipe from Taste.

Baby Chicks

Baby Chicks are a common symbol of Easter. They are born by hatching from an egg and symbolise new life and fertility. This once again links back to Jesus Christ being reborn on Easter Sunday and the beginning of new life.

We have a super cute (and easy) Easter Egg Carton Chicken craft your kids will love!

Easter eggs

The egg symbolises the story of Christ’s resurrection in many ways. Already a pagan symbol of fertility and rebirth, the Christian Easter tradition likens the eggshell to the tomb in which Jesus’ body lay for three days. Therefore, breaking open the eggs is meant to symboliee Jesus rising again and leaving the tomb.

Coloured Easter Eggs

Easter eggs image of very colourful painted eater eggs.

For many families, one of the most enjoyable Easter crafts they do together is painting hard-boiled or blown eggs for decoration. Although we already know that the egg symbolises rebirth and the tomb in which Jesus Christ laid for three days, there is actually a reason why painted eggs have become an Easter tradition too.  In the early Christian Church eggs were dyed a red colour to symbolise the blood that Jesus shed when crucified.  Over the years, the eggs were not just dyed red but painted with small Biblical scenes.

Make your own painted eggs with our simple Easter Egg Painting Craft.

Chocolate and Easter Sweets

Chocolate bilby

Ever wondered why the Easter celebration is traditionally filled with chocolate and sweets?

Lent is a 40 day season of prayer and fasting that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday.  It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter and is done to commemorate the 40 days Jesus Christ spent fasting in the desert and enduring the temptation of Satan.

During Lent, sweets and chocolates are not allowed, and so as Easter follows straight afterwards, it has become a tradition to enjoy the many sweets and chocolates that are prohibited on the celebratory days that follow.

The Easter Bunny

Victoria Park easter bunny

So with all this talk of chicken and eggs, where did the idea of the Easter Bunny come from and with him, one of THE most recognisable symbols of Easter?

There are several reasons why the bunny became a central figure in our Easter celebrations. Originating from the pagan festival of Eostre, whose goddess was represented by a rabbit, the rabbit was considered another symbol of fertility and rebirth due to how quickly they reproduce.

These sweet little Easter Bunny Mashmallow Pops are simple to make and a great addition to your Easter dessert spread!

Easter Egg Hunts

The Easter Egg Hunt is one of the most popular events on Easter Sunday for children.  As we know, eggs are symbolic in the Christian Easter celebration for representing life, rebirth and Christ’s resurrection.  Did you know that this fun little tradition symbolises the search for Jesus’ body?  This occurred on Easter Sunday when he rose again, the tomb was found open and empty and he was nowhere to be found.

The Lamb

ekka animal nursery lamb

Have you ever heard about the sayings “the sacrificial lamb” and “taking the lamb to the slaughter”?  Regarding Easter, baby animals in general are seen as representing rebirth and new life.  The lamb, though, is said to represent Jesus Christ himself.  In the Bible, it reads that Jesus was sent to Earth to sacrifice his life on Good Friday to save our sins. Like a lamb to the slaughter. He was led to his death for the sake of all others.

Easter Candles

Easter candles are often lit over the long weekend in churches and homes around the world. They are said to represent the light of Jesus Christ.

Easter Lillies

As candles light up homes at Easter, lilies are usually on full display too.  Easter lilies often feature in floral displays during the Easter celebration due to the many legends surrounding their existence in the story of Christ’s resurrection. It is believed by many that lilies grew up from the earth around the cross where Jesus died.  Also, according to the Bible, the petals of the white lily signify virginity, purity and the radiant soul of the Virgin Mary.

For these reasons, Easter lilies have come to be a symbol of everlasting life, purity and new life.

Easter Bonnets / Hat

Easter bonnet and hat parades are a tradition that most schools and young children enjoy being a part of each year. The idea is to decorate your hat with an elaborate and fancy display relating to the Easter celebration.

It is believed that this tradition stemmed from the superstition that wearing new clothes to church on Easter Sunday would bring good fortune.  New clothes are also seen to bring ‘new life’ to those who wear them.  Over time, these creations became more elaborate, with members eventually parading their finery for all after their Sunday service each year.

Palm branches

A Christian service is held the week before Easter known as Palm Sunday. During this service, palm fronds are used to recreate Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem ahead of his crucifixion.  The Bible states that the people of Jerusalem laid palms and other items ahead of him as he travelled and are now recognised as an Easter peace symbol.

Pretzels and soft breads

pretzel-oktoberfest

In early times, Catholics weren’t allowed to eat eggs, fat, or milk during Lent. As pretzels require only flour, salt, and water, they became a popular food during this period.

It is said that their shape symbolises the common prayer position with arms crossed. In many other countries, soft and sweet breads are used to mark the end of Lent and are usually adorned with crosses, pictures of lambs or eggs.

Butterflies

A lesser known symbol of Easter for many, the butterfly and the way it emerges, transformed, from it chrysalis is said to represent Jesus emerging from the tomb.  The butterfly’s transformation is also likened to the way a Christian is transformed when they take Jesus into their hearts and ask for his forgiveness.

3 Easy Easter Food Platter Ideas https://brisbanekids.com.au/3-easy-easter-food-platter-ideas/ https://brisbanekids.com.au/3-easy-easter-food-platter-ideas/#respond Wed, 31 Mar 2021 04:45:23 +0000 https://www.brisbanekids.com.au/?p=273032 Easter seems to have crept up on us especially quickly this year! Term one has flown by and now it’s time to think about relaxing for the extended weekend.

Here are 3 of our favourite tasty Easter treats you can serve over the long weekend. A definite plus is that they’re all chocolate-free (because there’s probably more than enough of that arriving from the Easter Bunny!).

Best of all, Brisbane kids can easily help prepare all 3 of these dishes, which usually means they’ll help eating them too. We’ve included some ideas about steps Brisbane Kids might like to help with, but you know your kids and their skills better than we do.  We’ve also included some ideas about how you might like to change up these recipes based on your tastes and what’s available near you.

Eggy Carrot Wraps

These tasty wraps are fairly healthy and easy to make. They can be made a little ahead of time and stored in the fridge ready for your little bunnies to eat when they want a break from the chocolate.

What you need:

  • Round flatbread wraps, cut in half
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Mayonnaise
  • Carrots, grated
  • Lettuce
  • Salt and pepper to season to taste
  • A few sprigs of parsley (to serve as carrot tops)

Eggy carrot wrap filling

Method:

Peel and mash the hard-boiled eggs roughly with a fork. Add the mayonnaise and grated carrot and stir until combined, seasoning to taste.

Place some of the egg mixture on your half wrap with some lettuce and a sprig of parsley making out on the round side.

Roll your flatbread into a cone shape and your ‘carrot’ is ready to eat!

Kids can help with:

Peeling and mashing eggs

Grating carrots

Stirring the mixture

Washing lettuce

Rolling the wraps

Change it up:

You can mix up the fillings to your taste. You could try salad wraps with avocado, or curried egg wraps, or even add in some grated cheese or tuna if that’s more your thing!

Easter Bunny’s garden plate

Crisp, fresh vegetables and yummy dips – you can’t go wrong with this healthy platter to counteract the sweet consumption over Easter!

easter bunny's garden

What you need:

  • Carrots
  • Cucumber
  • Capsicum
  • Hummus
  • Smashed avocado

Method:

Slice the veggies into finger-sized pieces.

Arrange in a circle on a round plate.

Add hummus and avocado to the centre.

Dip and enjoy a very tasty but delicious food platter!

Kids can help with:

Washing and preparing vegetables

Cutting (younger kids can cut cucumber halves with a butter knife)

Preparing dips

Arranging veggies on the platter

Change it up:

Choose vegetables that you know your Brisbane Kids will enjoy or might try. Other options include celery, tomatoes or radishes.

Mix up the dips! Use your favourites.

If you have a sweet tooth, you could try a fruit platter with things like banana and strawberries and have peanut butter and/or Nutella in the middle as a dip.

Fairy Bread Hot Cross Buns

Yes! We’ve made hot cross buns event sweeter with this super-cute method for turning them into the ever-popular treat – fairy bread!

What you need:

  • Hot cross buns (mini size if possible but any will work)
  • Butter or spread
  • Sprinkles

Method:

Fill a plate or dish with sprinkles.

Halve the hot cross buns. Spread the inside with butter.

Press the buttery surface into the sprinkles.

These are best eaten soon after making them (and good luck trying to get them to last!).

Kids can help with:

Cutting the buns

Buttering the buns

Pressing the buns into the sprinkles

Change it up:

You could create a hot cross bun buffet with different spread and topping options (use peanut butter or Nutella instead of butter) and top with slices of strawberry or banana, or try grated chocolate or crushed up easter eggs instead of sprinkles.

Three Fun Carrot Crafts! https://brisbanekids.com.au/three-fun-carrot-crafts/ https://brisbanekids.com.au/three-fun-carrot-crafts/#respond Tue, 30 Mar 2021 05:52:48 +0000 https://www.brisbanekids.com.au/?p=272774 Carrots are a fantastic vegetable and we have three fun carrot crafts to do at home and all you need is some carrots!  They’re readily available, relatively cheap and packed full of vitamins. They’re crunchy and tasty in salads raw and are delicious cooked in a variety of dishes. They’re grown right around the world, including commercial carrot farms right here in South East Queensland.

If the Easter bunny coming to town isn’t enough to get your Brisbane Kid curious about carrots, here are 3 fun carrot-based activities we’ve tested for you to try.

carrots are grate

Growing carrot tops

The orange part of the carrot that we normally eat is actually the tap root of the carrot plant.  This activity shows kids how plants use their roots to suck up water, and use the water and sunlight to grow their leaves.

sprouting carrot tops

sprouting carrot tops

How to:

Cut the end off a carrot, leaving about two and a half centimetres (one inch) of the orange root below the carrot top.

getting carrot tops ready to grow

Place the carrot in a dish of water near a window that gets plenty of light, but not directly in the sun (in Brisbane windows facing south can be good)

Change the water daily to help the carrot grow.

After a few days, the carrot should start to sprout new leaves.

carrot top sprouting

Tips: pick a carrot with a bit of greenery still on the end to help kick-start the process

Try this with more than 1 carrot – maybe put them in different locations? Compare and contrast how the carrots grow.

Painting with carrots

This is a fun (and potentially messy) activity to allow Brisbane Kids to use carrots in a very different way.

Cut some carrots in a few different ways (lengthwise, across, cut some notches out of the sides of a carrot etc) and prepare some paint.

ready to paint with carrotsEncourage your Brisbane Kids to explore the different patterns, textures and shapes they can create.  Can they use the carrots as stamps? Rollers? brushes? Can they use the carrot almost like a pencil to draw through thicker paint?

carrot printing

Paint tips: Brisbane Kids recommends washable paint for this activity

If you’re trying this with younger Brisbane Kids or or children who are sensory seeking, you might like to try taste safe ‘paint’ such as yoghurt with colouring added, or a mix of flour, water and colouring.

Carrots can be rinsed off and composted after this activity.

paint carrot

Carrot shape plate

For this activity, cut some carrots into slices of different shapes and sizes.

carrot shapes

Younger Brisbane kids might like to practice their shape names and perhaps arrange the prices of carrot into a face.

Older Brisbane kids might like to create a more elaborate scene, or practice their knife skills by cutting the carrots into different shapes themselves (or with the help of a trusted adult).

carrot shape scene

Snacking on the materials definitely allowed, even encouraged, during this activity.

eating carrots

You can include other fruits or vegetables in this activity or even add some hummus or a dip for some extra colour and flavour.

Off cuts can be used in cooking, given to a carrot-loving puppy if you have one, or composted (if they aren’t eaten up as you go).

The First Platypus Easter Chocolate https://brisbanekids.com.au/the-first-platypus-easter-chocolate/ https://brisbanekids.com.au/the-first-platypus-easter-chocolate/#respond Tue, 16 Mar 2021 02:03:51 +0000 http://www.brisbanekids.com.au/?p=272393 The Easter chocolate Bilby has been around for a few years, albeit often hard to find and quick to leave the shelves. It’s been a popular Easter treat, not least because it raises money to help save the endangered Bilby but also helped by the fact it is something that Australian children can relate to. Needless to say, we were thrilled to see that finally, a chocolatier has expanded on this idea to include another threatened Australian animal, the platypus.

The chocolatiers

Chocilo Melbourne, formerly the Chocolatier Australia Shop have been handcrafting chocolate since 1985. They are true chocolatiers, passionate about creating insanely delicious chocolates at surprisingly affordable prices. Think luxury chocolates with heart.

The first Australian Easter Egg Platypus

platypus easter egg in blue packaging.

Chocilo Melbourne’s latest creation, Puddles the Platypus is a 190gram hollow chocolate platypus made of pure milk chocolate. Presented in a blue box reminiscent of an Australian waterhole, it is accompanied by 2 gold foil chocolate Easter eggs. When you purchase a Puddles the Platypus easter box you can also feel good about the fact they are donating 25% of all profits to the Platypus Conservancy. The best part is, it only costs $13.95 (plus shipping) and they are happy to send their delicious chocolates all around Australia.

Other Easter chocolates

easter egg hamper with assorted easter eggs.

We thought we should include some of their other Easter chocolate highlights that you can purchase at the same time.

  • Giant Easter eggs with a range of flavours from strawberries and cream to a chocolate stevia Easter egg for those of you who prefer a sugar free indulgence.
  • A chocolate Easter bunny riding a motorbike called “Bikin Bunny”.
  • Easter hampers for those truly special people in your life or a great gift idea for family who live interstate. Many of these hampers include Puddles the Platypus.
  • Easter smash cakes which can be a fun idea for a first Easter photoshoot.
  • Hunting eggs to make it easy to stage your own backyard Easter Egg hunt.

When you purchase from Chocilo you know that you are purchasing from an Australian business and supporting Australian workers. We love that you can add to this goodwill by purchasing a chocolate Easter Platypus and in doing so support the hard work that goes into trying to save one of our most unusual and iconic species.

Find their entire range including Puddles the Platypus at Chocilo Melbourne’s online shop

Easter At Home | The Ultimate Easter Tradition Guide https://brisbanekids.com.au/easter-traditions/ https://brisbanekids.com.au/easter-traditions/#respond Fri, 10 Apr 2020 02:09:27 +0000 http://www.brisbanekids.com.au/?p=260274 If you are having an Easter at home, then we have the best ideas for you! So many, in fact, that we are calling this the ultimate guide to Easter at home!

Plan your Easter egg hunt

There are lots of ways the Easter Bunny can deliver Easter Eggs. Sometimes it’s as simple as a delivery to the end of the bed with some floury footprints. And, sometimes the Easter Bunny sets up elaborate Easter Egg Hunts to ensure the Easter experience lasts as long as possible.

Ideas for elaborate Easter egg hunts

  • Place the Easter treats in lots of different and unusual places. Finding the chocolate is all dependant on the kids solving Easter clues. This scavenger hunt type approach is a great way to ensure the hunt becomes a challenge. For younger kids, you can use visual clues for them to try and locate where the Easter eggs might be hidden. For older kids, you can use more complex clues using Easter Trivia
  • Challenge older kids with an elaborate code hunt that leads them to the grand finale of Easter egg drops. Each egg in the hunt needs to have a piece of the code either inside or attached. When the kids have collected all the parts, they need to decode the clue to find their prize. For instance, each clue could be a letter that when rearranged spells where the prize is, e.g. E M M A S B E D R O O M. Or each clue could be a word that forms a sentence, e.g. YOUR PRIZE CAN BE FOUND WHERE FOOD GROWS IN THE GROUND.
  • Use plastic Easter eggs and fill them with a mix of small non-chocolate Easter gifts. You can recycle the cases every year. Ideas of what to put inside include Lego Mini figurines, charms, shopkins or even clues to where a gift is hidden.

Easter Food

There is nothing like food during a celebration to bring the family together. Traditions are often built around food and so what you choose today might just be something your grandkids choose for their own families in 30 years! That’s quite an extraordinary idea!

Easter Breakfast

Easter pancakes are a thing and involve elaborate ways of designing pancakes in the shape of bunnies- here are some ideas for you below. For older kids and adults, you might be more interested in a pancake grazing platter

Eggs and Soldiers

Dippy eggs are reminiscent of childhoods everywhere. For soft boiled eggs simply fill a pot with water, pop the eggs in, (while the water is still cold) and bring to the boil. Once they have cooked for approximately 2 minutes and 30, they will be ready. Larger or refrigerated eggs might take you up to the 2 minute and 50-second mark before they are ready. It’s straightforward to test one and quickly pop it back in if you happen to pull it out early.

Cook with Easter Eggs

Decorated buscuits

We have so many different Easter treats you can make, but our favourites are the ones that require no cooking and are simply about decorating biscuits because Easter doesn’t need to be hard work. Have a look at our chick biscuits, our bunny biscuits and our mini egg nests (which technically require some chocolate melting).

Easter Egg Decorating

The best thing about Easter egg decorating is the relief upon realising there is no need to blow the egg contents out of the egg. You can even paint these eggs and use them in your Easter Egg and soldier breakfast!

Easter Baskets

If you don’t have Easter baskets, but you happen to have some paper plates handy, you can easily fashion some Easter baskets. Or if you are living in a crafty house, you might have some felt lying round to DIY some cute egg carriers. You can find instructions for both of those here.

More Fun Ideas for special Easter at Home

  • Make the Easter weekend camping at home weekend. Pitch the tent in the backyard or build a fort in your lounge room.
  • Create an Easter tree! It’s as easy as making some salt dough decorations and painting a de-leafed tree branch white. Pop the branch in a vase and decorate the branches.
  • Plant an Easter Garden
  • Read some favourite Easter books. One you might remember from childhood is the Country Bunny- do you remember? Easter books for kids
  • Watching the Easter movies like HOP is a tradition for many families but if you are looking for more options, then you will love our list of every Easter Movie made for kids
  • Take an Easter family photo; you could even make bunny ears from cardboard. You could also outline some rabbit ears in chalk on the ground and then pose for photos. Here are some instructions on how to take a time delay photo with your mobile phone
  • Bake some hot cross buns at home – add some chocolate chips because you can! Here is a Good Food Recipe for you.
  • Buy some Easter pyjamas and plan for the change of season. Depending on where you are in the world these could be lovely flannelette pyjamas or a light PJ set. Easter slippers are always fun too!
  • Buy Easter Bilbies instead of Easter chocolate rabbits. When you buy a chocolate Bilby, you are contributing to the fund that helps to keep this endangered animal alive.
  • Track the Easter Bunny as he/she makes their way across the world https://easterbunnytracker.com/
  • Make an Easter playlist. Bonus points for songs with mentions of eggs, rabbits and chocolate.
  • Have a golden egg hunt. Fill plastic eggs with random combinations of coins. The golden egg has $5.
  • Host your own Easter Bonnet Parade. The most creative wins! Simply provide all the kids with a cardboard cutout hat and give them a ton of weird and unusual things they can add. Someone we know did a Samboy chip hat once which looked amazing!
  • Make a paper kite and go kite flying in your backyard. This Easter activity is a tradition that stems from The British island territory of Bermuda where kites are made and flown on Good Friday!
  • If you have enough flour, consider using a small amount to allow the Easter Bunny to make bunny footprints across the floor.
  • Catch the Easter Bunny out by using a phone app (just type catch the Easter Bunny in Google Play or the Apple Store.
  • Plant jellybeans that magically grow into lollipops overnight.
  • Colour-code your Easter Eggs with each child having a colour to collect. No more Easter Egg hunt brawls!

And that is our exhaustive list of how to do Easter when you are safe at home. If you have a fun or unusual Easter tradition we have missed let us know in comments below!
