Finding a place that offers free Santa Photos in Brisbane is like a dream come true when you want to keep up the annual photo tradition but you don’t have the budget to afford the paid versions. Most Santa photos start at around $19.95 per photo in shopping centres and a pack with all the bells and whistles can cost over $50.
This year, however, many spots—from shopping centres to more unique locations such as carols events and Christmas markets—are offering the opportunity to BYO camera for a snap with the jolly man in red. There is sure to be somewhere in your suburb, or close to you, where you can grab a free photo with Santa in 2023. Just remember to social distance and take your own camera or phone to capture the moment, as most places do not provide a photographer.

On Friday 1 December B105 will be broadcasting live from Kingston Butter Factory in Strathpine, with very special guest Guy Sebastain and of course…. Santa! Along with their special guests, there will be free food, free coffee, stacks of giveaways plus FREE family Santa Photos.

Flowstate Pavilion – South Bank, 18 – 23 December, 4pm – 9.30pm
Visit Santa on his annual visit Down Under amid a festive Flowstate Pavilion in South Bank Parklands. Snap your own selfie pics with Christmas royalty for a memento of the yuletide season or hand your phone or camera to Santa’s little helpers for a festive photoshoot to remember. This event is free, but donations to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, located nearby Santa’s sleigh, are appreciated.

Nicholas Street Precinct, 21 December, 6pm – 8pm
Head to Nicholas Street to meet Santa and friends amidst a variety of emergency service vehicles. This special event honours the dedication of our local heroes, showcasing fire trucks and police cars decorated in festive cheer. As the sun sets, families have the chance to meet Santa Claus against the backdrop of these powerful machines.

The bigger Christmas lights have a Facebook page where they advertise what nights Santa will appear and we make special mention of these appearances on our Christmas Lights Page, so make sure you check regularly so you don’t miss out.
Usually, Santa is available for photos and selfies on the night, but if you happen to turn up on a night Santa is not visiting, a Christmas photo amongst the Christmas lights is a great Christmas memory to have too!

David Jones Queens Plaza Keep your eye out for Santa instore at David Jones Queens Plaza, as he wanders around taking selfies and offering special inside information on how he travels around the world in one night.
