It’s time to dig out your Dirndl and Lederhosen and get ready to celebrate Australia’s largest German Festival, Oktoberfest Brisbane! The festival takes place over two weekends: Friday 7th – Sunday 9th & Friday 14th – Sunday 16th October 2022.

Oktoberfest is back again this year at the Brisbane Showgrounds, offering the whole family the culturally-rich atmosphere of the spectacular {spektakuläre} Oktoberfest celebration in München to Brisbane. The showgrounds will be transformed into a Bavarian Village, with the Oktoberfest Tent, Munich Biergarten, kids’ entertainment, a range of traditional stalls showcasing delicious food and world-famous beverages, and an exciting festival program featuring a line-up of traditional entertainment.

Sit back, relax and soak up the festival atmosphere as you watch a wide range of entertainment, including the home grown Bavarian Oompah band, yodeller Helga, the Alpenrosen Dance Group and more roving entertainers than you can poke a pretzel at. The popular competitions are back including Miss Oktoberfest, The Big German Quiz and Bavarian Strongman. Top it all off with the Autoshow where cars are lined up across the village to showcase the sleek, the stylish and the vintage, giving festivalgoers a taste of German car perfection.

The highlight of any Oktoberfest is always the food and beverages, and Oktoberfest Brisbane is rated in the top 10 Oktoberfest events in the world – so you won’t be disappointed. Feast on traditional cuisine, including Bratwurst and pork knuckle {Schweinshaxe}, as well as Black Forest cake {Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte} and other delectable goodies such as German pastries, strudels and European chocolates. Finish them off with specially brewed German beers and world-class wines.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

Oktoberfest Brisbane is a family-friendly event with a special kinder (kids) entertainment that promises to be bigger and better than ever this year! The kinder-specific entertainment offers a program of educational and fun activities that Brisbane Kids of all ages will love.

Bring the kids along to experience authentic dancing, yodelling, food and so much more. There’s fun for the whole family all day long, not to mention great rides, face painting, roving entertainers, live entertainment and delicious food. Plus, head along on Sunday for free rides for everyone!

Oktoberfest Brisbane 2022 Dates and Times

Oktoberfest Brisbane 2022 runs over 2 huge weekends in October, from 7th – 9th and 14th – 16th October 2022. Operating hours are as follows:

Friday 7th and 14th October: 12pm- midnight
Saturday 8th and 15th October: 12pm – midnight
Sunday 9th and 16th October : 12pm – 8pm

Please note: Children: 17 years and under are FREE on all days with an accompanying adult and kids’ rides are free all day Sunday. Tickets at the gate are more expensive than those pre-purchased online.
