  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Raby Bay Esplanade Park at Raby Bay

Last Updated: March 28, 2024
Raby Bay Esplanade

Raby Bay Esplanade Park at Raby Bay boasts a huge bike track and impressive beach-side playground, making it one of the most impressive all-ages playgrounds in the area!

There is no exaggeration in the statement that Raby Bay Esplanade Park provides a full day of adventure, fun and exploration for kids of all ages.

The main playground, which resides atop of a giant sandpit, needs to be seen to be believed and is a wonderland for families.  A custom Goliath Tower and Wave Climber are the clear centrepiece and offer kids an abundance of climbing opportunities.  For younger children, there is a slide half way up the tower and for the more adventurous, older one there is one that curls down from the very top.

For the youngest ones, there is a smaller climbing structure with tunnel and ropes as well as a slide to explore.  The park also features a larger, separate climbing frame too.

Along with the usual swings (both an individual one and a large net one for groups), Raby Bay Esplanade Park also features a fun imaginative play fish and chip section, a refreshing water play area with pumps and canal, nature play area and more!

Just beyond the covered seating and bbq areas that lie beneath the koala trees and alongside the bay is another section for older kids again.  Here teens will be able to take part in a game of basketball on the half court, play table tennis on the outdoor table or make use of one of the more impressive outdoor gyms in the area.

One of the main draw cards though, for all ages again, is the large 200m-long bike, scooter and riding circuit that has been installed nearby.  Follow the concrete pathway towards the secluded bay lookouts and beaches and you will find this impressive addition, which includes jumps, traffic signs, road markings, turning lanes, roundabouts, ditch rides, rest stops, speed humps and more.

Imagination Factor

There are a lot of fantastic gems at Raby Bay Esplanade Park to fire up a child’s imagination.  One of the main ones would be the miniature fish and chip shop, which comes complete with rods and even some hanging fish to keep it busy!

With a definite nautical theme, the park provides many structures that could see children sailing the ocean aboard their trusty boat, walking the plank, delivering shipping products and then working out of their fish shop too.

Nature Play

Raby Bay Esplanade Park

This is definitely a nature play playground and if you are going to head to the bay then you might as well be prepared to get a little wet!  Raby Bay Esplanade Park has a great water play section that comes complete with pumps, routes and a pebble-lined canal to splash in.  Kid can grab a leaf or two and take them on a journey down the pathways.

The park also offers some large mounds, sandpits and climbing structures for kids to jump on and clamber over.

Accessibility

With wide open pathways, toilets and flat ground this playground is easily accessible to all.  The park itself is easy to navigate around with flat grass and wide spaces between each play area.  Flat concrete pathways surround the park and lead straight from the main playground area. This pathway  travels past the toilet block and on to where the riding area is situated.

The pathways also lead to some observation benches under beautiful, shady trees and a gentle meander around the bay and its secluded beaches.
