  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Dino Zoo at The Cube, QUT

Dino Zoo

Prepare for your dino-loving child to be wowed by the world’s largest digital interactive learning display featuring the amazing creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago. The Dino Zoo, at The Cube QUT, is two storeys high and features 48 touch screens, which will tower above even the tallest child. Visitors are encouraged to engage in interactive, digital activities and even try their hand at an archaeological dig simulator.

A large muttaburrasaurus skeleton at the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit at QLD Museum.

The newly opened Dinosaurs Unearthed: Explore Prehistoric Queensland exhibition on Level 2 at the Queensland Museum, will be sure to wow keen dinosaur fanatics.  Inquisitive visitors can watch multimedia displays, interact with touchscreens and microscopy, compare your height to the reconstructed hind leg of a Rhoetosaurus and learn all about the fascinating creatures that roamed the earth more than 250 million years ago.

The gallery’s star has to be the skeleton of Queensland’s own Muttaburrasaurus, which commands your attention in the centre of the room. Once you have finished at Dinosaurs Unearthed, check out the rest of the museum, which has so much to offer visitors young and old.

In addition, the Dinosaur Garden, on Level 0, is a great space to let off some steam, snap a selfie with a T-Rex or Triceratops or check out what happens to dinosaur eggs.

You don’t have to visit the vet to catch a glimpse of the popular t-rex, named Rex, which is permanently located outside Eatons Hill Veterinary Surgery. Rex dons a Christmas hat in December to get into the festive spirit. Next time you are driving past the vet, at the entrance to South Pine Sports Complex, stop for a photo and say hi to Rex.

White Ridge Animal Farm

Girl digging for fossils in the sand at White Ridge Farm.

Most people come to White Ridge Animal Farm for the cute and cuddly animals, but dino fans will want to head straight for the fossil dig area. Once in position, budding palaeontologists can use the tools provided to dig, burrow and brush around the sandy pit to uncover the fossils of a T-Rex. And when they are finished, they can play putt putt, go on a tractor ride, play in the playgrounds or pat and feed the animals.

Please read our detailed review of White Ridge Animal Farm.

Location: 130 Hamilton Road, Elimbah

Hologram Zoo

With none of the ethical concerns of traditional zoos, Hologram Zoo offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see animals up close and personal. If you are visiting the scenic Enoggera Reservoir and Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre with your budding palaeontologist, then pay a visit to the designated dinosaur dig area to look for buried dinosaur fossils. Australia Zoo

We all love Australia Zoo for its unique animals, but did you know there are dinosaurs there too? It appears Robert Irwin is a dinosaur fanatic, so much so that he is gifted a dinosaur statue each year for his birthday. These statues are proudly displayed throughout the zoo and are the perfect backdrop for a photo. And if you love Robert and dinosaurs, check out his Dinosaur Hunter book series.

These towns all have amazing and unique stories about their connection with the dinosaurs that roamed the land many years ago. Check out life-sized dinosaur dioramas, Australian dinosaur fossils and footprints, a light and sound show and visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum.
