  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Department stores with LEGO on sale

K-Mart, Big W and Target all stock large ranges of LEGO in store, with some of their range also available to purchase online. Department stores regularly have sales on their toys, but they can also offer cheaper non-sale prices than most other retailers.

Myer and David Jones also stock a variety of LEGO. Their prices are often less competitive than the department stores mentioned above, however they too have regular sales and online deals that are worth checking out.

While not technically a department store, and paid membership is required, Costco often sells LEGO at reduced prices. While the range may not be huge, bargains can be had if you are in the right place at the right time. Online only deals, usually with free shipping, can also be found on their website.

Toy stores selling discount LEGO in Brisbane

Some of the big-name toy stores in Brisbane feature what resembles a wall of LEGO in many of their stores. The collections tend to be impressive,  although prices vary between higher-end and mid-range toy stores. When on sale in toy stores, you can grab some great discounted LEGO in Brisbane, though often the LEGO on sale will be ranges they may be trying to clear out and not those highly sought after LEGO sets. One of the larger toy stores around Brisbane that sells LEGO is Mr Toy’s Toyworld.

Situated in Capalaba, Bricks n Fun is a LEGO lover’s paradise. The store has impressive displays of LEGO creations for you to admire, as well as LEGO play sessions that provide kids with a massive range of LEGO to try out. Bricks n Fun do also have LEGO for sale in-store and offer loyalty discounts to frequent shoppers. Whether it’s to purchase or just experience the massive range of LEGO, Bricks N Fun will not disappoint.

Cheap LEGO online in Australia

Brick Builder is an online store offering a broad range of LEGO with great prices on a lot of their stock. They even have a range of discontinued and hard-to-find LEGO available for purchase in case you are looking for something specific. They offer a flat rate standard shipping rate of $9.95* Australia-wide (with Express Post upgrades available for an additional cost), allowing you to shop from the comfort of home.

Hobby Warehouse claims to be Australia’s largest online hobby store, with much more than just LEGO on offer. They have a moderate range of LEGO available, with prices slightly below RRP and some bigger savings available. Delivery is Australia-wide.

Just Bricks offer $5.95* flat rate Australia-wide shipping for orders from their online store (with other express options available) and they claim to have the largest LEGO collection in Australia. The savings are not as big, but you may find something specific you have been looking for or score a good deal during a sale or online discount. As an added bonus, they also offer some pre-owned LEGO and the opportunity to trade unwanted LEGO to them for re-sale. You may even score a bargain bulk lot!

Discounts with LEGO VIP Loyalty Programs

While finding discounted LEGO in LEGO branded stores is rare, they can be found. Clearance items can be found online, but depending on how much you spend, you may need to pay shipping. Occasionally, there may also be discounts in store, but usually incentives such as ‘free gift with purchase’ are offered instead.

Signing up to free VIP loyalty programs will see you gaining points for money spent on LEGO, and if you are a regular shopper or buy a couple of big sets, this will quickly add up. Points can then be converted into $$ which can be used off your next purchase. Just remember, there is a difference between LEGO stores you find in shopping centres and LEGO.com.au, and as such there are separate loyalty programs.

LEGO.com – Becoming a LEGO VIP will see shoppers earning 4.5 points for every $1 spent in LEGO brand retail stores and at LEGO.com. which can then be redeemed for money off your next purchase. As an added bonus, there are regular ‘double points’ on offer throughout the year, so be sure to check your emails for special offers.

AG LEGO Certified Stores – VIP members of AG LEGO certified stores will earn one point for every $1.50 spent in store and online. Once you reach 100 points, you will receive a $7.50 discount to be used off a future purchase. AG LEGO Certified stores in Queensland can be found at Westfield Chermside, Robina Town Centre and Stockland Townsville Shopping Centre.

Big containers of secondhand Lego laid out on tables in Brick Resales showroom

Where can you buy secondhand LEGO in Brisbane?

With a massive showroom located in Coopers Plains in Brisbane, Brick Resales is open every day (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from 8am-3pm. The first pre-loved LEGO showroom of its kind in Australia, Brick Resales has over 640m2 of LEGO bricks to pick from and over 2 tonnes of LEGO for sale.

You could also check out Gumtree and eBay for regular secondhand LEGO sales and bargains, though do be careful about what you are buying. Sellers often claim to be selling LEGO when in actual fact it is an imitation brick.

*Delivery prices are correct as of February 2023 and are subject to change. Please check individual websites for up-to-date pricing.

Cleaning Your LEGO

As wonderful as LEGO sets look on display, there is no doubting they can get dusty on the shelf or grimy from little fingers playing with them. While this is unavoidable, the good news is, it can easily be fixed.

To bring your LEGO bricks back to life and looking sparkly clean follow these easy steps:

  • Fill a bucket with warm water (no hotter than 40 degrees)
  • Add a small amount of mild detergent to the water
  • Wash bricks gently with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush
  • Rinse bricks in clean water
  • Dry the bricks on a towel in the shade (move them around every so often to make sure they are 100% dry before putting them away)
  • DO NOT dry in direct sunlight or with a hair dryer as it can affect the integrity and shape of the bricks

With so many options for buying discount LEGO in Brisbane, you are sure to find the sets you are looking for to make your little ones the happiest kids in town. And if they are still keen for more LEGO then why not check out some of these awesome must visit places for LEGO fans in Brisbane.
