“When I grow up I want to drive a digger” was a common phrase in our household. Turns out they didn’t need to grow up after all! Dig IT at Thunderbird Park has recently opened, making dreams come true for Brisbane Kids. Located within Thunderbird Park, Dig IT has four zones filled with action for all ages. Yep, all ages!
Dig IT Excavation Zone
The Excavation Zone at Dig IT Mount Tamborine is where the kids commandeer a digger to dig a hole as deep as they want. They fill the bucket with dirt and mud, spin the cab around, and then shake the dirt into a huge pile.
With experts on hand to help, it’s the cleanest way to play in the mud!
Dig IT Demolition Zone
Next is the Demolition Zone where kids can knock over a tower of timber blocks, test their skills, and try to stack old tires. It’s trickier than it looks, but still, a challenge the kids enjoyed.
Dig IT Croc Zone
Kids can try fishing with their diggers at the Croc Zone. Using a hook on the end of their boom, kids have to use finesse to hook a croc and hoist it in the air.
The RC Zone
The RC Zone has numerous scaled and realistic radio control vehicles to drive in the gravel pit.
What you need to know
- Kids under five need an adult to accompany them on the digger, but those five and over can go solo if they wish.
- Accompanying adults who are not required on the digger but still want to be part of the action can stand beside the digger while their child is busy making a mess. It’s great for some action shots and video!
- There are 40 places per session to book with 9 diggers and two RC pits. This means that kids (and parents) need to pack their patience as there can be a lot of standing around waiting for a turn (and we all know how that can go).
