Downfall Creek Bushland Centre
Downfall Creek Bushland Centre – On the Raven Street Reserve in the Chermside Hills, Downfall Creek offers an information centre and guided tours. For animal lovers, guided spotlight tours can be arranged via the information centre at 815 Rode Road McDowall.
Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre
Boondall Wetlands Environmental Centre – Nature spotting, night spotlight tours, bird watching and even the occasional dolphin….Boondall Wetlands offers walking, canoeing, cycling and recreational facilities with plenty of nature (so bring the mozzie spray). Osprey House Environment Centre
Osprey House Environmental Centre gives an opportunity for you and your Brisbane kids to really appreciate the beauty of the Qld great outdoors. Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre
D’Aguilar National Park South (aka Brisbane Forrest Park). 3600 ha of things to do and see and all just down at the end of Waterworks Road! From horse riding to camping to dozens of walking tracks through waterfalls, along dams and through plenty of koala and kangaroo spotting territory! Redlands Indigiscapes
Redlands Indigiscapes is the heart of Redland’s Environmental Education and offers information on the gardens and natural spaces of Redlands. Access walking tracks, an education centre and plenty of info from 17 Runnymede Road Capalaba
Queens Park Environment Centre
Queens Park Environmental Centre Ipswich is the centre of environmental education in the city of Ipswich and surrounds. It offers family activities, educational workshops and information. The park itself is home to lots of colourful native birds and kid-friendly gardens and playgrounds. Enter via Goleby Avenue.
The Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre
The Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (C.R.E.E.C) is an environmental and interpretation centre spread over 18 hectares and is the ideal venue to entertain the children for hours whilst also educating them (and yourselves) about the environment.
Karawatha Forest Park Discovery Centre
Karawatha Forest Park is not only an important wildlife haven but home to a fascinating Discovery Centre, numerous walking tracks, two picnic areas and an awesome nature play space.
Other notable Brisbane environment centres
Jacob’s Well Environmental Education Centre is about 20kms from Beenleigh and caters to the conservation of southern islands of Moreton Bay. You’ll find lizards, frogs, snakes and other Brisbane favourites as well as plenty of information and things to do for mums and dads.
Bunyaville Environmental Centre is the information centre for Bunyaville Conservation Park in Everton Hills. It sports plenty of walks and has plenty of educational activities for Brisbane Kids. There is even a pet-friendly area that’s great for pets and free-range kids.
Moreton Bay Environmental Educational Centre is a “living building” created to the highest sustainability standards so it’s a great place to take Brisbane kids interested in conservation and environmental issues. It caters to the wildlife and mangrove forests of Moreton Bay and its islands including the heavily endangered Dugong population around St Helena Island (wouldn’t that be a treat to spot!) It’s located at 162 Stradbroke Avenue in Wynnum.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre is a place for the community to learn more about koalas and all the reasons why this iconic Australian animal is now considered endangered. Lots of information about how you can get involved and what to do if you see an injured or ill koala in the wild.
