Our Lady of Dolours is a small one-stream Catholic primary school, nestled in the heart of Mitchelton in Brisbane’s leafy north-west, catering for students from Prep to Year Six.

O.L.D., as it is affectionately known, is a strong, vibrant community where children and families come first. They believe that the best outcomes for children are always achieved through an active and collaborative partnership between teachers, parents and students.
Facilities at O.L.D.
Our Lady of Dolours’ onsite facilities include eight air-conditioned classrooms, technology centre and library, large multipurpose centre, covered courtyard with theatre facilities, a variety of outdoor play areas and newly refurbished play equipment on the school oval. A before and after school hours care service operates on the school grounds for the convenience of working parents.
Dedicated teaching staff
O.L.D.’s highly qualified teaching staff are dedicated to supporting the academic success of every student; striving for excellence in education through a curriculum that supports every part of our students’ development. They offer specialist teachers in the areas of Technology, Music, Art, LOTE (Japanese), Physical Education and Dance and use a variety of learning strategies to meet the specific needs of their children. Students at O.L.D. are valued for the special individuals they are, and are encouraged to shine in an environment that celebrates their unique talents and achievements.

Underpinning everything they do at O.L.D. is their Catholic identity and values. Our Lady of Dolours students are expected to treat those around them with care and respect and there is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying behaviour. They nurture the personal and spiritual growth of each child in our care, and cultivate their burgeoning cultural and social awareness within an unashamedly Catholic context. O.L.D. students are encouraged to make a difference in the world, and the staff watch them do it every day.
