Geebung State School is a co-educational primary school, catering for students from Prep to Year Six.
Located just 11km from Brisbane City, Geebung State School is a relatively small primary school, with just over 380 students.

Enrolment at Geebung State School
Geebung State School has an open catchment enrolment policy, with out-of-catchment students, including interstate and international students, eligible for enrolment.
School tours, Prep Information Sessions and Open Days are held at the school for prospective families (usually in Term 2) with the school also offering Connect – A Prep Transition Program.
In order to enrol at Geebung State School you must complete an enrolment form and additional permission forms, before attending an enrolment interview.

Facilities at Geebung State School
Geebung State School is home to a 25-metre swimming pool, multiple covered playgrounds, an oval and two multi-purpose courts. The well-maintained grounds also host a school dental clinic and out of hours school care service. A medium-sized hall is onsite and is available for hire.
The purpose-built school library is air-conditioned and overlooks the school oval. It comprises of a media room, teacher planning room, a teacher reference room and a large library space for students. A bank of computers are also available for student use.
A tuckshop is open a few days a week before school, at morning tea and during lunchtime, providing a range of healthy food options.
A uniform shop is also located at the school and sells new school uniforms as well as a selection of second-hand school uniforms.
Special Needs
Geebung State School has approximately 15 classroom teachers, a teacher-librarian, physical education teacher, music teacher and five teacher aides, with extra support provided by a guidance officer and speech and language pathologist. Additional teachers to support learning difficulties, English as a second language and instrumental music are also provided.
Extra-Curricular Activities at Geebung State School
Camps – Students in Year 5 attend a camp based in Mapleton, whilst Year 6 students will camp at Currimundi.
Swimming – A weekly swimming program runs throughout Term 4 and Term 1, with a swimming carnival taking place in Term 4 for students in Years 4 – 6.
Athletics – A school athletic carnival takes place every year with all students participating.
HPE Lessons – The Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) approach is used in PE lessons to help students focus on learning a variety of skills through participation in modified games.
Representative Teams – Students have a chance to be nominated through the school to participate in Bramble Bay District Trials. Student nominations in Metropolitan Regional teams is also possible.
Active Play Breaks – Each class is provided with sporting equipment to be used at break times.
School Gardening Club – Students also have the opportunity to participate in maintaining the school vegetable garden.
