Robertson State School has 27 classes from Prep to Year 6, encompassing approximately 45 different culture groups. Robertson State School prides itself on its high academic standards. Gifted education is a strong focus at the school, with a specialist teacher employed 2 days a week to manage this program.
Digital futures at Robertson State School
Digital futures are Robertson State School’s strategic direction, with digital device classrooms as well as laptops and iPads for whole school use. They also have a very active chess team where the students compete both in and out of school time and currently have state winners in a number of age groups.
Instrumental program
Robertson State School has a very high level instrumental music program which begins in year 3, where all students have an opportunity to learn an instrument as well as be part of an ensemble at their level of expertise. All students are also involved in the choir from year 3 and perform at eisteddfods and competitions with great success.
Robertson State School’s sport program
The school has a very good sport program whereby students from years 5 and 6 have Gala Days three times a semester where they compete in a selection of different sports. All students take part in cross country and athletics days where students are selected to represent the school at a district competition.
School excursions & camps
All year levels participate in curriculum based excursions annually and these may occur within the school or at an outside venue. Students from year 4 and upwards are able to participate in an annual school camp and these venues change depending on availability and dates. This camp environment allows the students a variety of life experiences.
