Child-led learning
Every day, the children of Marchant Park are leading the play, with their teachers extending their learning, linking and guiding their experience in accordance with the Queensland Kindergarten learning guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework. These curriculums honour every child’s right to play in a safe, inviting, natural environment. Marchant Park Kindy is where children and families belong, they pride themselves on the fact they are a community run Kindy. Marchant Park is affiliated with Lady Gowrie.
Consistency is key
Being a single stream kindy (only one class unit per day), the children at Marchant Park Kindergarten thrive within a nurturing environment with consistent and regular known playmates and attendance times. Importantly, the same qualified teacher and assistant are with the children every day throughout the year. It’s beautiful to watch this relationship between the teacher and child develop throughout the year. Kindy really does become their second home and this level of consistency is designed to informally mirror the coming school years and narrows the sometimes daunting transition from Kindy to formal education at Prep.
Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program
Marchant Park Kindy are pleased to provide a Queensland Government approved Kindergarten Program and their kindy has been rated overall as exceeding national quality standards by the Department of Education, Training and Employment.
Marchant Park Kindergarten
Marchant Park Kindy offers two streams – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8.30-2.40; and Thursday and Friday from 8.30-4.15. They also offer vacation care. Subsidies are available for families with children aged between 3½ and 4½ who hold a Health Care Card.
